High velocity-low amplitude, or HVLA for short, is a type of manipulation in which the provider provides a rapid (high velocity) therapeutic force of brief duration that travels a short distance (low amplitude) within the anatomic range of motion of a joint and engages a restrictive barrier in one or more planes of motion to elicit the release of restriction.
HVLA is used to relieve movement restrictions by applying a quick, therapeutic force of rapid duration that travels a short distance within the range of motion of a joint. HVLA therapy aims to restore a more "normal" range of motion within a joint and alleviate pain.

DRY NEEDLING is a technique physical therapists use to treat pain and movement impairments. The physical therapist inserts a "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, into areas of the muscle.
Other terms used to describe dry needling include:
1.)Trigger point dry needling.
2.)Intramuscular manual therapy.
Dry needling can release or inactivate trigger points to relieve pain or improve range of motion. Research suggests that dry needling improves pain control and reduces muscle tension. Study findings also show that dry needling can normalize dysfunctions of the motor end plates, from which nerve impulses get transmitted to muscles. This can help speed up the patient's return to active rehab.

Occupational Therapy (OT) vs. Physiotherapy (PT): What’s the difference?
OT focuses on improving the patient’s ability to perform activities of daily living e.g. self-care (getting dressed), productivity and leisure. OT takes a more holistic approach, with the overall goal of helping clients perform daily activities with the highest degree of independence possible.
PT is the physical rehabilitation of people recovering from injuries or disease, with PT treating the patient’s actual impairment. PTs are trained extensively in body mechanics and use treatment techniques that are designed to reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
Occupational Therapy ABC
❌No, your chiropractor/personal trainer/physician/massage therapist/internet video did not do physical therapy with you. Perhaps they gave you some exercises or did some soft tissue work, but that is NOT physical therapy.
✅Physical therapy is a profession and the culmination of a variety of examination, treatment, and education methods. Yes, exercise, soft tissue mobilization, etc can be a part of physical therapy, but they are merely a part of a larger system of evaluation and treatment.
Physical therapy can ONLY be performed by, or under the direct supervision of, a physical therapist. This is a legally protected term that no one else can use!
