"Fresh Air, Bright Future: Say No to Vapes and Ci******es!"
The city health services office recently conducted a talk for Grades 5 and 6 learners, focusing on the dangers of smoking and the rising use of e-cigarettes (Vapes). The discussion highlighted current research showing the harmful effects of e-cigarettes (Vapes), including the potential risks to young people. They also emphasized the causes and severe health effects of smoking, such as lung disease and heart problems. Additionally, the learners were informed about Baguio City's strict ordinances that prohibit smoking in public areas, reinforcing the city's commitment to maintaining a smoke-free environment and protecting the health of its residents.

DERRON BLAKE R. BAUTISTA for Standing out in the CK Classic International Open Taekwondo Championships Malaysia 2024 held at Stadium Uniten, Putrajaya, Malaysia last August 9-11,2024. He won 3 gold medals in the following events: Individual Poomsae, Team Poomsae, and in Speedkicking. He landed for SILVER in Kyurogi.

The SLSI Elementary Department welcomed the new Academic Year 2024 – 2025 with the theme, “The ICM Louisians: Carers of God’s Creation” through a meaningful Eucharistic Celebration with Father Joseph Marion S. Nebres, as the mass presider. They also celebrated the SOLEMNITY of the ASSUMPTION of MOTHER MARY and learners offered flowers as their tribute to her being a symbol of purity, compassion and maternal love.
