ISPM 32: Categorization of commodities according to their pest risk
We apologize for the extended wait, but we're excited to share another standard on plant protection measures.
The international community has established a significant standard to safeguard our ecosystems - the "International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) on Categorization of Commodities."
This standard provides vital criteria for National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs) of importing countries. It guides them on how to categorize commodities based on their pest risk when considering import requirements.
The aim is to enhance our understanding of pest risks and ensure the health of our plants and environment.
We understand that the wait for this information has been longer than expected, owing to the suspension of multiple ISPM webinars. Your patience is highly appreciated.
We're committed to keeping you informed and empowered with the latest knowledge to protect our green friends and biodiversity.
Thank you for your understanding, and let's continue working together to nurture and preserve our precious plant life!

Bridging the Foundation: Connecting ISPM2 and our Thursdayβs topic ISPM11 for Comprehensive Plant Protection!
Hello, plant defenders and sustainability advocates! Let's explore the fascinating synergy between ISPM2 and ISPM11: βPest risk analysis for quarantine pestsβ β two pillars shaping the world of plant protection and risk management.
β¨ Bridging the Gap
While ISPM2 laid the foundation by focusing on three (3) crucial stages of PRA, ISPM11 extends that vision by delving into risk assessment of quarantine pests. What are quarantine pests? And how do we know if a pest is considered one? And how do we assess its risk? With ISPM 11, we will unlock the answers to these questions.
So, as we explore the dynamic connection between ISPM2 and ISPM11, let's remember that our journey towards sustainable plant protection is an evolving one. Together, let's leverage the wisdom of these standards to nurture our planet's flora, safeguard its biodiversity, and shape a greener future for generations to come! π±π
