On July 18, 2024, responding to an invitation from the Local Government of Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, the IBP Misamis Oriental extended its legal aid services to the community.

The legal team provided free assistance in drafting basic legal documents such as affidavits, notarizing non-commercial documents, and offering legal counseling. This outreach exemplifies IBP's ongoing commitment to supporting those in need.

The dedicated team of volunteer lawyers included Atty. America M. Atega, Atty. Georgia Dawn C. Gacus, Atty. Rhobert C. Maestre, Atty. Jo Angelic A. Jacobo, and Atty. Albert Wences C. Daba III.

Offering free assistance, the legal team helped draft basic legal documents such as affidavits, notarized non-commercial documents, and provided legal counseling. This outreach was part of IBP's ongoing commitment to support those in need.

The dedicated team included Legal Aid Director Atty. Johanne Emmanuel G. Agustin, Atty. Camille Nica C. Roque, Atty. Justin Karl S. Pablico, Atty. Dariel S. Palasan, and Atty. Princess Kimberly V. Ubay-ubay, who also serves as a Municipal Councilor of Alubijid.

As part of the IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter Project Papa Bear and to further boost the registration campaign for the upcoming Juris Doctor Conferment Rites and Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Xavier Ateneo School of Law on November 16, 2024, Atty. Virgilio A. Galarrita, Jr., Chapter President and Interim President of the recently incorporated Xavier Ateneo Law Alumni Association Incorporated (XALAAI), personally visited the Halls of Justice in El Salvador City, Alubijid, Laguindingan, Initao, Manticao, and Iligan City to distribute event posters/tarpaulins detailing registration for the event.

Among the alumni visited who expressed support and confirmed attendance are Judge Michelia O. Capadocia (Presiding Judge MTCC El Salvador City), Atty. Neoven Patrick C. Emnace (Clerk of Court RTC Initao) and Atty. Sittie Aisah M. Mohammad-Mabaning (Clerk of Court RTC Iligan, Branch 1).

The Board of Officers of the IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter has approved the extension of the Panyero/Panyera Card Program's validity until March 31, 2025. Current cardholders can continue using their cards with participating benefactors until this date. If you wish to obtain a new card indicating the extended validity, please contact our legal staff and pay a fee of P200.

For those interested in joining and supporting the program, the fee is now P700, and a card will be issued in your name.

***A Panyero/Panyera card is a discount card for members of the IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter and other lawyers. It entitles the holder to discounts on products and services from participating benefactors.

Proceeds from this project benefit the legal aid programs and other activities of the IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter.

On July 2, 2024, the IBP of Misamis Oriental, through its Legal Aid Program, joined the Local Government of Binuangan, Misamis Oriental, headed by Municipal Mayor Engr. Dann Isaiah D. Lusterio, in its Gawad Kalinga activities. Guided by the principle "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much" by Helen Keller, volunteer lawyers, supervised by Legal Aid Director Atty. Johanne Emmanuel G. Agustin along with Atty. Michael Jacob C. Abella, conducted a legal aid clinic to serve the local community.

IBP MISAMIS ORIENTAL CHAPTER JOINS THE IBP DAVAO CITY CHAPTER OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE BRAZEN KILLING OF FORMER IBP DAVAO CITY PRESIDENT AND PROSECUTOR ELEANOR DELA PEÑA.

On June 8, 2024 the IBP Project Papa Bear Committee conducted it's 2nd meeting to discuss among others, the immediate concerns for the upcoming Juris Doctor Conferment Rites and Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Xavier Ateneo School of Law, which will be on November 16, 2024 at the Atrium, Limketal Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.

During the said meeting the Incorporators signed the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) documents, for the Incorporation of the Xavier Ateneo Law Alumni Association.

In relation to the recently conducted Work Immersion Program of the Xavier University Senior High School and IBP Misamis Oriental, the IBP officers through Immersion Director Atty. Aleczandra M. Castillo-Datumanong also took the opportunity to confer to the stakeholders the plaques of appreciation.

Brief meeting with Interim General Manager Fermin V. Jarales of the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD), wherein IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter President Atty. Virgilio A. Galarrita Jr expressed thanks for the visit and sharing of the vision, tactical strategies and concrete solutions.

With that, indeed 1IBP is with 1COWD in solving the problem for the benefit of fellow Cagayanons.🫡🫡🫡

Look | Visit/Short meeting with Liceo College of Law Dean, Atty. Manuel I. Cabrera on May 31, 2024.

Atty. Virgilio A. Galarrita, Jr. IBP Mis Or. President, together with Atty. Johanne Emmanuel G. Agustin, IBP Legal Aid Director grabbed the opportunity for a brief meeting with Dean Cabrera.

The visit was to discuss the Project Papa Bear, wherein the chapter can assist the law school in reference to organizing the Alumni Association and possibly a Juris Doctor Conferment Rites/ceremony for the law graduates before 2019, as it's first activity.

It was also discussed on how the Chapter, through its Legal Aid Program, assist/collaborate with the Clinicial Legal Education Program of the school.

Dean Cabrera also took the opportunity to showcase the new Faculty Lounge with a cozy and warm ambiance.

Final reminder to all Panyeros/Panyeras who are joining the Project BALA (Bonding Activity for Lawyers & Advocates) 2.0 on January 06, 2024 (7am to 3pm) to please come early or be on time for a short program and briefing prior to Firing Proper.

For those who do not have activity shirts yet, the same will be given on site.

Special items will be given to the early registrants with limited supply.

Again as an overview Project BALA 2.0 is intended for beginners, but all are welcome and will have a chance to execute the courses of fire in the 3 bays using either a 9mm, .45 caliber, .38 revolver or shotgun and 1 bay will be a versus mode dubbed as "Shoot 'em All".
