On July 8, 2024, FAESO and XU-AECO held a meaningful discussion about future partnership and collaborations! We shared updates on our work, explored partnership opportunities, and planned initiatives to enhance student leadership.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗸𝗮-𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘀!
Last July 6, 2024, the Assembly of Extra-Curricular Organizations, together with XU-CSG, Councils, Co-curricular organizations, and numerous other student-led organizations, enthusiastically participated in the Global Youth Summit. This dynamic gathering brought together passionate young leaders from diverse backgrounds, united in their commitment to addressing pressing global challenges through collaboration and innovation.
The summit focused on key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined by the United Nations, reflecting our shared aspirations for a better world: Goal 4: Quality Education, advocating for inclusive and equitable education opportunities for all. Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, promoting access to safe and affordable drinking water and sanitation services. Goal 1: No Poverty, striving to eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions. Goal 17: Partnership for Goals, emphasizing the importance of global cooperation and partnerships to achieve sustainable development. Goal 5: Gender Equality, championing the empowerment of women and girls and ensuring equal access to opportunities.
Participants shared inspiring stories of grassroots efforts, community projects, and advocacy campaigns making a tangible impact in their communities and beyond. As representatives of our university and its diverse student body, we reaffirmed our commitment to driving positive change and contributing to a sustainable and inclusive future. The Global Youth Summit served as a catalyst for collaboration, sparking new ideas and forging lasting partnerships that will continue to drive progress long after the summit concluded.
By harnessing the energy and creativity of young people, we are laying the groundwork for a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, where no one is left behind, and where our collective efforts contribute to a more just and sustainable global society.

Today, the Xavier University Assembly of Extra-Curricular Organizations (AECO) convened for a significant event: the General Plan of Action Presentation (GPOA). Each department meticulously outlined their projects and initiatives for the upcoming academic year, showcasing a commitment to excellence and purposeful planning.
This event exemplified the dedication and foresight of our student leaders as they work collaboratively to enhance the extracurricular landscape and student experience at Xavier University.
The insightful presentations left us filled with optimism for the positive impact these initiatives will bring to our academic community.

The Xavier University - Assembly of Extra-Curricular Organization (AECO) took part in 𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗬𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. Journalists from various schools gathered with the theme "Narrative Resonance in Creative Resistance" to explore the power of storytelling and its function in countering disinformation and propaganda. AECO members are inspired to keep pursuing excellence and the truth in communication through thought-provoking talks and a varied speaker lineup.
This year, The Crusader Publication opens SIBYA with three esteemed speakers of media and journalism: 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼. This powerful message underscores the importance of steadfast commitment to truth and excellence in the field of journalism.

Today, we had a courtesy meeting with the incoming Senior High Association of Student Organizations (XU-SHASO) administration. Our discussion included a 'Get To Know You' session, where we exchanged valuable ideas about the Member Organizations of the Assembly of Extra-Curricular Organizations (XU-AECO) and XU-SHASO. We also shared upcoming projects and initiatives, emphasizing future collaboration.
This promising interaction paves the way for a strong partnership, where our combined efforts will drive innovation and success in future events and activities. Together, we are set to create a significant impact and reach remarkable achievements.

The Xavier Debate Circle has done it again. XDC congratulates their contingent during the recently concluded 15th Visayas-Mindanao Debate Championship hosted by Josenian Debate Varsity & Josenian Debatista in Cebu City last May 29-31, 2024.
Steven Siawan & James Cachola defend the crown making XU the back to back champions of VMDC. Not only did they sn**ch the trophy, James and Steven were awarded as the Overall Best Open Speaker & 2nd Best Open Speaker of Visayas-Mindanao with James being the Finals Best Speaker. Like their legacy, this magnificent duo shall go down in history as legendary debaters of the Visayas-Mindanao Debate Circuit. The circle will forever be grateful for their hard work and contributions.
Joining their seniors, Kiarra Lingating and Sean Sanchez ended with a bang as Open Grand Finalists with both debaters awarded as the 3rd Best Open Speaker & 6th Best Open Speaker of Visayas-Mindanao. Their dedication and hardwork has truly paid off. With the circle in their hands, the future of XDC has never been brighter.
Our fellow competing judges, McHyll Battung & Jed Earl Tabora also slayed in said tournament. Marvin as an Invited Adjudicator was awarded as the 4th Best Judge and Jed debuting his first f2f judging tournament was awarded as the 8th Best Judge. They have shown that XDC not only makes great debaters, but great adjudicators as well.
