The Cebu Institute of Medicine receives commendation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines Education Benefit System Office (AFP EBSO) through the Chair of the AFP EBSO, Capt. Virgilio De Guzman, PN (GSC) for its unwavering support through scholarship grants for the children of the AFP personnel Killed in Action (KIA). Thank you AFP EBS for the recognition. It is an honor to serve for the country.

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of one of our esteemed Alumnus who has distinguished himself not just as medical doctor, priest but as friend of the Cebu Institute of Medicine family. Our condolences to the family and to the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. We ask for your prayers for the eternal repose of his soul.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear confrere, Fr. Alfonso “Fons” Suico, Jr., CSsR, at 5:38 AM today, April 17, 2023 at the Chong Hua Hospital. He was 47.

Fr. Fons was a brilliant and compassionate missionary, medical doctor and professor in moral theology who has touched and transformed the lives of many. May the light and joy that he left this world radiate through us as we continue to carry and share his beautiful memories. Please join us in praying for his eternal repose as he now finally joins our Redeemer.

His remains will be cremated and will be brought to their home in Mandaue.

Wake schedule:
Mandaue
April 17-19, Monday until Wednesday morning.

Redemptorist Church
April 19-22, Wednesday afternoon the urn will be brought to the Redemptorist Church. Wake will be at the church from Wednesday until Saturday.

Funeral Mass will be on April 22, Saturday, 9 AM at the Redemptorist Church. Interment will follow at the Caretas Cemetery.
