The University Student Election Commission (USEC) wishes to inform the Lasallian community about the conclusion of an investigation into a complaint lodged against Ms. Pearl Margarette Manaig, a candidate for the position of Governor in the College of Business Administration and Accountancy Student Government (CBAASG).
The complaint involved allegations of improper endorsements and promises related to budget allocations and office space. After a thorough review of the evidence and testimonies, the Commission found violations. However, the case was determined to lack sufficient merit to proceed with punitive measures.
The appropriate sanction, given the gravity of the offenses, is a public apology and/or retraction of statements from Ms. Manaig. This decision underscores the importance of maintaining the integrity of the election process and adhering to electoral guidelines.
The Commission is committed to improving the clarity and enforcement of election regulations to ensure fair and transparent elections in the future. We thank you for your attention and cooperation. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
