The 7th floor of the NAB Conference Center at PCU Cavite bustled with anticipation as the university community gathered for a significant general orientation. The event, which brought together students, faculty, and staff, was marked by inspiring messages, important announcements, and a strong emphasis on the power of preparation and perseverance.

The assembly opened with a Message of Life from Rev. Dr. Noel P. Adriano, of the University Chaplaincy Center, who highlighted the importance of preparation in seizing opportunities. "Kung ayaw natin ma-miss ‘yung mga opportunities, kailangan natin yakapin ang paghahanda at pagsisimula," he stated, emphasizing that preparation reduces anxiety and stress while increasing the chances of success. He reinforced his point with a timeless quote from Benjamin Franklin: "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."

Dean Dr. Eileen A. Enriquez, the acting dean of colleges, followed with opening remarks and an inspirational message, encouraging everyone to embark on a shared journey toward success. "Sabay-sabay tayong maglayag patungo sa tagumpay. Wag kayong matatakot sumabay sa alon ng buhay. Kayang-kaya niyong su-unguin ang hamon na iyon," she said, urging students to face life's challenges head-on and with confidence.

A brief intermission featured a performance by Vianna Mae S. Ricafranca, a CHTM student, adding a touch of entertainment to the proceedings.

The event also focused on student welfare with Dr. Romelyn C. Saul, RGC, RPm, LPT, of the Student Support Office (SSO) reassuring students that the Guidance Office is always open to accommodate their needs. "Our guidance office is more than open to accommodating our college students," she affirmed, highlighting the university's commitment to student support.
In an important segment, Dr. Emeliza E. Cosio, LPT, Coordinator for the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), discussed the Student Code of Conduct to ensure that all students are aware of the rules and regulations that govern their behavior on campus.

Finally, Ma’am Rowena F. Lopez, MBA, of the Campus Registrar delivered a motivational message, reminding everyone that "the future depends on what you're doing right now," while Dr. Francis Christie C. Arnado, LPT, a Data Privacy Officer, emphasized the importance of awareness, quoting, "Ignorance of the law does not excuse you."

The assembly concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination among attendees, inspired by the powerful messages imparted by the university's leadership. As the event wrapped up, the overarching theme was clear: success is within reach for those who prepare, persevere, and embrace the challenges that come their way.

Pagpupugay sa ating Student Body Organizations (SBOs) and Support Services!

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐒𝐆, 𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐧𝐚

Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), Arts and Sciences (AS), Young Health Advocate Society (YHAS), Constructopolis and Association of Honed EngineerinOps- PCU D CAHEO, Criminology Students Executive Organization CSEO, Education Society (EDSO), Junior Hotelier Restaurateur and Voyageur Society (JHRVS), Junior Associate of Executive Manager (JAEM), Philippine Society of Customs Administration Students (PSCAS), Computer Society (COMSOC), Junior Political Associate Society (JPAS), at Psychology Society (PYSCHSOC) at kasama din sa nasabing pagtitipon ang mga kinatawan mula sa PEER, History Society (HS), Aws Cloud Club, PCU-D Chorale, Dulaang-PCU, at VEAM.

A Constitution by definition, is a body of fundamental laws and principles that binds the rights and establishes an explicit and formularized legal landscape of its provisions, under which all regulations, legislations, institutions, and procedures operate. Amending, establishing, and ratifying such a political and social instrument necessitates careful consensus and debate among selected representatives who not only represent their respective organizations but also a civic vision of the state, expressing commonly held values and fundamental propositions.

As such, the outcome of the constitutional amendments poses a significant impact on the future of the university. Known as “The Constitution of the University Student Government—PCU Dasmariñas," it shall signify and manifest the University Student Government (USG) as the highest expression of students’ power that commits to the best interests of the university and the student body as its primary concern.

With the Student Body Organization representatives serving as a legislative body to deliberate on and enact amendments, this constitution is a living document that encompasses all the principles, values, dreams, and determinations of the entire student body. Let it be known that this is no mere piece of paper with arbitrary rules and regulations hidden behind complex terminologies. It represents a binding social contract that unites students under a common vision —faith, character, and service.

The process of crafting and refining this document is a profound exercise in democracy and governance, as it requires input, scrutiny, and endorsement from a broad spectrum of stakeholders, ensuring that the resulting constitution is not only comprehensive but also reflective of the diverse perspectives within the university.

The ratification of "The Constitution of the University Student Government—PCU Dasmariñas" will mark a transformative moment in the university’s history. As said by Mr. Matthew V. Adante, USG President, “Gusto namin g sabihin na may konstitusyon tayo, na ito ang mga karapatan natin.” This declaration underscores the constitution's role in affirming and protecting the rights of the student body, providing a predictable framework within which all student activities and governance will operate.

To all college students of Philippine Christian University - Dasmariñas, your engagement in this process is vital. Attend the parliamentary sessions, voice your opinions, and witness firsthand how your representatives deliberate and make decisions on your behalf. By joining or spectating during these sessions, you not only support the democratic process but also contribute to the vibrant and dynamic community that defines the university.

As the university moves forward, this constitution will be a guiding light, ensuring that the values of faith, character, and service continue to inspire and direct the actions of the University Student Government. All members of the university community are encouraged to engage with this historic process, lending their voices to the creation of a constitution that promotes, protects, and preserves the rights of the students.

On August 5, 2024, the Commission convened all officers with secretarial jobs from college-wide student body organizations. With the guidance and knowledge of Chairperson Dagami, who once was the Commission's secretary, the workshop aimed to empower participants to effectively contribute to the organization's growth and success by providing them with tools and strategies to streamline administrative processes and foster a culture of collaboration and efficiency within the organization.

The workshop concluded with the emphasis that student-leaders with secretarial duties are not just mere paperwork organizers nor letter-makers but integral contributors to the overall success of their organization (𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙖-𝙏𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙮𝙤𝙙 𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣).

Mula sa pagpuna, pakiki-isa sa laban ng masa, progresibo at maka-taong liderato, no to TOFI, no to uniform policy, no to PUV modernization, no to CHACHA, no to mandatory ROTC, free Palestine, end genocides, paglaban para sa malayang pagpapahayag at demokrasya, SDGs, at hanggang sa mga kasalukuyang inisyatibo, ang kasalukuyang konseho ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng sumuporta sa hangarin nitong maging malaya at magpalaya.

May these initiatives continue, and may the new set of leaders embody a kind of leadership where 'sa estudyante ang tutok dahil sila ang sentro.'

Muli, this is USGPCUD 77.
