With the festivities of the Chinese New Year, the USGAA Iligan & Lanao Del Norte have also gathered to commence our first Tipok-Tapok of 2024. Held yesterday, the gathering was filled with laughter and smiles as we caught up on each other's lives over coffees and teas.

Aside from getting updates on members' personal lives, the team also discussed the association's plans and upcoming projects for the year.

HIGHLIGHT: USGAA Iligan & Lanao Del Norte representatives Ada Bahian and Calil Andaloc attended the annual US-PH Alumni Meet last February 3-5, 2024 at the Ritz Hotel at Garden Oasis, Davao City.

The US-PH Alumni Meet is a convention of alumni fellows from various organizations of US international exchange programs in the Philippines. 🇺🇸🇵🇭

The three-day event consisted of recap discussions of 2023 activities of these associations, engaging in in-depth review of challenges and best practices done to create future action plans and alumni engagement strategies for this year. It is also a chance for the associations to reconnect and strengthen each other's networks for future project collaborations. 🤝💙

The association extends its gratitude to Ada and Calil. We are looking forward to the activities and projects that will transpire this year! ✨

LOOK: Ainie Tabua and Calil Andaloc represented Iligan and Lanao del Norte alumni association in the US-PH Alumni Meet at Quest Hotel, Tagaytay City last February 11-13, 2023.

The annual alumni meet convene alumni representatives of alumni associations of U.S. international exchanges from across the Philippines for a three-day conference to discuss 2022 activities, collaborate with other alumni association and create an alumni engagement strategy for this year to continue strengthening the network and advance mutual goals between the US and the Philippines. 🇺🇸🇵🇭

The Alumni Meet was concluded with a lunch reception at the US Embassy - Manila with the U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, Her Excellency MaryKay Carlson.

The alumni association extends its big thanks to Ainie and Calil! We’re excited on how the association will go from here and the collaborated projects in store for this year!✨

The application period for the 2024-2025 Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers (Fulbright DAI) is NOW OPEN! DAI is a semester-long non-degree, non-credit, professional development program at a U.S. university. Participants will audit courses in the host university’s School or Department of Education and thus will be part of the general university community. The program will include opportunities to observe and co-teach with U.S. teachers in a U.S. school near the host university, in order to actively engage participants in the U.S. classroom environment. Cultural enrichment, mentoring, and support will be provided throughout the program.

MEET THE NEWEST PYLP OF THE FUTURE! They are now preparing to participate in the upcoming PYLP2023 training at Northern Illinois University. Thank you to our In-Country Team at University of Science and Technology in Southern Philippines for leading the recruitment and selection process that revealed these amazing new PYLP Leaders. The interconnections fostered between them and PYLP/USGAA alumni communities from all over Mindanao gave our 24 leaders the ability to unleash their potential and be ready to take on this PYLP Journey!
