𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮, 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 - There's just no stopping moment for their continuous streak of success. Today, November 24, 2023, marks another remarkable milestone for the Octava Choral Society—a Resident Choir of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), as they garnered an Honorable Mention award in the finals of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) held on November 21-26, 2023, at the Manila Metropolitan Theater.

After being hailed as a winner in the Northern Mindanao Regional Semifinals for the Senior Choir Category of the NAMCYA on September 2, 2023 at Bukidnon State University (BukSU), they once again left the audience in awe of their harmonious performance brought about by their skills, persistent dedication, and well-weaved team coordination, made possible under the guidance of their Artistic Director, Prof. Ernesto C. Zaldua Jr.

The NAMCYA, in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), spearheaded the said event in celebration of 50 years of nurturing artists across the Philippines, with this year's theme, “GINTONG PAMANA (Golden Legacy): The 2023 NAMCYA Festivals and Competitions,” which has gathered aspiring artists across nationwide for a chance to perform on the national stage.

Given the opportunity, the Octava Choral Society proudly performed and showcased an awe-striking performance that has not only brought prestige but also recognition to the growing cradle of talents at MSU-IIT. Their noteworthy achievements have been a testament to what IITians are capable of.

Our B188 Fourth-Year Students of Computer Applications are gearing up for an intense pitch competition in the semi-final round. This year's theme, revolving around 𝑨𝑰 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, reflects our commitment to addressing global challenges and contributing to sustainable development goals.

Indeed, he is the perfect example of what this class aims for: 𝒘𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. Thanks to the invaluable support of iDEYA incubation programs and seminars as well as the unwavering support of the Computer Applications Department and the dean of the College, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑹𝒂𝒃𝒃𝒚 𝑳𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒔.

And the stakes are high! Our semi-finalists will be facing a distinguished panel of judges, representing both 𝑮𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒚 and 𝑪𝒆𝒃𝒖 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚, Philippines. It's a global stage, and our students are ready to showcase their talents and dedication.
