Do you recall Sam Boy Lim?
In the 1980s and 1990s, Samboy Lim, a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association, collapsed after an exhibition game in 2014 and was rushed to the hospital. This incident led to the passage of the Samboy Lim Law (Republic Act 10871), also known as "The Basic Life Support Training in Schools Act," thanks to a bill introduced by Rep./Coach Yeng Guiao in 2015. This law requires mandatory hands-only CPR training to be included in the K-12 curriculum in honor of Samboy. (Source: Philheart.Org)
