DTI Region VI Rachel Nufable presents the Region VI Trade Promotion Gameplan with the goal of establishing Western Visayas to be the Healthcare Information Management Service (HIMS) Capital of the world by 2028 during the Workshop for the Western Visayas HIMS Roadmap held today, June 28, 2024 at the Park Inn by Radisson in Iloilo City.
The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders including government officials, industry experts, ICT councils, representatives from the academe and LGUs, among others.
The HIMs sector falls under the Health and Sciences (HLS) cluster, aligning with the government priorities outlined in the 2023-2028 Philippine Development Plan and the Western Visayas Regional Development Plan.

Discussed during the meeting were the review of the targets and accomplishments of the office for the month of June as well as the upcoming activities, other issues and concerns.
Present were Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan, STIDS Rosalie A. Panganiban, STIDS Pamela S. Roldan, STIDS Amiel P. Sumait, TIDS Dicof D. Cofreros, TIDS Dessa Anh T. Flores, TIDS Iris Mae I. Sarabia, TIDS-CARP Gelimae I. Invina and TIDA Judy Ann B. Rendon.

DTI Launches Tindahan Mo, e-Level Up Mo Program
The Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual led the successful launching of DTI Tindahan Mo, e-Level Up Mo Program, today, June 26, 2024.
This nationwide program intends to provide support to our micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by capacitating sari-sari store owners in particular on how to level up their businesses and addressing the different areas of marketing, operations, financial and digitalization. As a result, it will empower these MSMEs to become sustainable and digitalized enterprises.
In his message, Sec. Pascual reiterated the agencyโs mission for the advancement of Filipino entrepreneurs and included therein is the contribution of sari-sari stores in the countryโs economic growth. He encouraged the participants to fully utilize their learnings from the different modules for the further improvement of their businesses.
A total of five (5) modules will be provided to the participants which started with Module 1: e-Level Up ang Negosyo this morning, to be followed by Module 2: e-Level Up and Online Marketing (July 24); Module 3: e-Level Up and Puhunan (August 28); Module 4: e-Level Up ang Paninda; and Module 5: e-Level Up and Operations (October 23).
DTI Aklan was able to gather a total of 114 sari-sari store owners, who participated onsite at the Provincial Office and Negosyo Centers, and online via the DTI Philippines Facebook Livestream and Youtube Channel.

The Department of Trade and Industry, led by Sec. Alfredo E. Pascual, successfully launched the DTI Tindahan Mo, e-Level Up Mo Program, earlier today, June 26, 2024.
The program intends to capacitate our sari-sari store owners on how to level up their businesses by addressing the different areas of marketing, operations, financial and digitalization.

The Department of Trade and Industry Aklan Provincial Office conducted a seminar entitled ?: How to Market Your Business on Facebook earlier today, June 21, 2024, at The Roofdeck by Nineteenth Street Cafe, Poblacion, Aklan and online via Zoom.
It aimed to capacitate our Aklanon micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in learning the basic know-hows of Facebook Marketing and how to establish their own in order to maximize the use of the said platform.
Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan, who gave his welcome message, highlighted the importance of being visible online especially in the present business landscape.

LOOK | ARTEFINO VISITS THE WEAVING SITES IN THE PROVINCE OF AKLAN
Last June 17-18, 2024, the founders of ArteFino along with some of their members visited the different weaving sites in the province of Aklan for a Buying Mission/Production Site Visits to Aklanon micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The group consisted of the founders:
1) Ms. Mercedes Lopez-Vargas
2) Ms. Maritess Pineda
3) Ms. Armita Bantug-Rufino
4) Ms. Susan Quiros
5) Ms. Maria Carmela Francisco
They were also joined by Ms. Leah Espiritu Rocha and Ms. Imelda Canuel.
During their 2-day trip, they were able to visit seven (7) weaving sites including La Herminia Piรฑa Weaving, Raquel's Piรฑa Cloth Products, Natural Fibers Technology Resource Center (Aklan State University - Banga Campus), Bandiola's Piรฑa Weaving , Haboean Studio and Cafe, Uswag Arts and Crafts and San Ramon Abaca Handicrafts Association.
They also met with Provincial Governor Jose Enrique M. Miraflores and Vice Governor Reynaldo M. Quimpo and discussed potential marketing collaboration and opportunities for our Aklanon MSMEs.
ArteFino is a group based in Metro Manila who supports and uplifts Filipino artisans' crafts to preserve our living traditions. They serve as a venue for Filipino products to be promoted and linked to potential buyers through their various initiatives.

After several weeks of field immersions, meetings, focus group discussions (FGDs) and working closely with their MSME clients, the Canadian Consultants from Catalyste+ have presented their business diagnosis and recommendations during the Catalyste+ Exit Meeting held earlier today, June 14, 2024, at the DTI Aklan Provincial Office.
Mr. Tom Smillie, who assisted the Aklan Agricultural Improvement and Marketing (AIM) Cooperative from Malinao, Aklan, shared his business diagnosis and the corresponding suggestions on how to address the cooperativeโs weak points so as to improve their current enterprise structure.
On the other hand, Mr. Daniel Nadeau, who was assigned to Numancia Vegetable and Fruit Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative (NVFFMPC) from Numancia, Aklan, created a Strategic Plan for the group based on his insights from their current status and where the MPC can be in the future after the plan is successfully implemented.
Also present during the meeting were Mr. Erwin Altamarino, Catalyste+ Project Officer, and the representatives from the DTI Regional Office composed of Ms. Ma. Aurora E. Bangcaya and Ms. Andrea S. Reyes, both from the Industry Development Unit (IDU).
Meanwhile, in attendance from DTI Aklan were Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan, STIDS Rosalie A. Panganiban, TIDS Dicof D. Cofreros, TIDS Dessa Anh T. Flores and CARP-TIDS Gelimae I. Invina.

Their theme, โFostering Radical Opportunities for Malaynons Yielding Sustainable and Inclusive By-Product Into Business,โ aims to highlight the products and services of Malaynons which contribute to the municipalityโs continued economic growth.
The fair will be available from June 13-15, 2024.

The Department of Trade and Industry Aklan Provincial Office in partnership with the Provincial Government of Aklan as Cooperator and the Aklan State University (ASU), held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the upcoming Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project entitled Aklan Innovators Hub Fabrication Laboratory (AIH FabLab) earlier this morning, June 10, 2024.
The activity was at the future location of the project inside the Aklan State University - Kalibo Campus, Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan.
Present during the ceremony were DTI 6 Regional Director Rachel N. Nufable, DTI Aklan Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan, ASU President Dr. Emily M. Arangote, SP Senior Board Member Jay E. Tejada on behalf of Gov. Jose Enrique M. Miraflores, and former Provincial Director Ma. Carmen I. Iturralde. Also present were the teams from DTI Aklan, Provincial Engineerโs Office (PEO), Aklan Tourism and Trade Investment Promotions Center (ATTIPC) and Aklan State University.
SSF FabLab is a program of the agency which aims to become a platform for academe-industry-government collaboration thereby enabling micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to develop new products, add value to existing ones and generate new streams of income.
