The Philippine Normal University National Union of Student Governments (PNUNUSG) submitted a letter of recommendation for the Extension of Term 3 Deadlines today, July 11, 2024, at 12:53 PM to the Office of the President as well as the Office of the Vice President for Academics (VPA) as a resolution for the students' academic concerns, which include heavy academic workloads, wellbeing/health issues, financial allowance, time constraints, and field study.

You may read the official and full recommendation letter below. According to the Vice President for Academics, Dr. Marilyn U. Balagtas, the result of the consultation will be released through a university memo.

These Volleyball players have shone as a team and stand as a testament to the power of unity and dedication to reach the ultimate 'champion place' goal. Their exceptional skills to receive, serve and block the Volleyball ball claimed the top spot made them to celebrate a well-deserved triumph.

In male category, the team Yellow Sunsation proved their tireless hardwork and perseverance to secure the winning place.

In female category, the team Crimson Phoenix showed their legendary feminine style of handling the ball. These ladies showed that they never get out of style inside the volleyball court.

GENERAL CONDUCT:

Players are expected to exhibit sportsmanship, maintaining a friendly and polite attitude in interactions with other participants and the public.

The organizer reserves the right to impose penalties, disqualify, and remove any registered player from the tournament at any point, at their discretion.

Attempting to cheat, even if unsuccessful, constitutes a violation. Any conspiracy to cheat results in automatic disqualification for all involved.

Chess Information Technology (Chess-IT) invites you to join in a "Face-to-Face Swiss Chess Tournament" as part of the activities celebrating the 31st Founding Anniversary of PNUSL on July 1, 2024.

This tournament is open to all enrolled PNUSL students. Teams are encouraged to have at least 3 representatives for male category and 3 representatives for female Categories.

Get ready to test your skills and challenge your opponents!

TOURNAMENT RULES:

A. Chess will be played as an individual competition in standard format.
B. The Swiss System (5 rounds) will be adopted, using the Chess Tournament Manager app for pairing.
• Male and female participants will be paired separately.
• Players will not be paired against each other more than once.
• A player who receives a bye or a win due to an opponent's absence will not be given another bye.
• Players are paired with others who have the same score.
• A player earns 1 point for a win, 0.5 for a draw, and 0 for a loss.

Welcome to the INTRAMS 2024! This premier event brings together the best badminton players from various teams to compete in a series of exciting matches. The competition features Single A Female, Single B Male, and Mixed Doubles categories, each showcasing the exceptional skills, agility, and sportsmanship of the participants.

In this tournament, double elimination will be used to eliminate losing teams. Double elimination in badminton is a tournament format where each player or team must lose twice before being eliminated from the competition. In this system:

Initial Rounds:

• All participants start in the main bracket (also known as the winners' bracket).
• Players or teams compete with the losers moving to the losers' bracket.

Losers' Bracket:

• Participants who lose in the winners' bracket get a second chance in the losers' bracket.
• If a player or team loses in the losers' bracket, they are eliminated from the tournament.

Progression:

• Matches continue in both brackets until only one player or team remains in each bracket.
• The winner of the losers' bracket competes against the winner of the winners' bracket.

Finals:

• If the player or team from the winners' bracket wins the final match, they are the tournament champions.

This format ensures that every participant has a fair chance, even if they lose an early match, making it a comprehensive and competitive structure for badminton tournaments.

Respect for Opponents:

• Treat your opponents with respect and courtesy at all times.
• Shake hands with opponents before and after the match.

Adherence to Rules:

• Follow the official rules of badminton as outlined by the governing body.
• Accept the decisions made by the umpire and line judges without dispute.

Fair Play:

• Play honestly and do not attempt to deceive officials or opponents.
• Avoid any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct.

This league is open to all enrolled PNUSL students. Teams are encouraged to have at least 8-12 players.

Rules for Volleyball

1. Teams must consist of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 8-12 players. (Play All).
2. Games will be played in standard volleyball format with Three- set matches are two sets to 25 points and a third set to 15 points. Each set must be won by two points. The first team to win two sets is the winner of the match.
3. Points are made on every serve for the winning team of the rally (rally-point scoring).
4. Players may not hit the ball twice in succession (a block is not considered a hit).
5. A ball is out if it hits an antennae, the floor completely outside the court, any of the net or cables outside the antennae, the referee stand or pole, or the ceiling above a non-playable area.
6. A ball hitting a boundary line is in.
7. It is illegal to catch, hold or throw the ball.
8. Matches are made up of sets; the number depends on level of play.
9. Sportsmanship and fair play are expected from all participants.
10. Have fun, complete with integrity and showcase your volleyball skills in the spirit of friendly competition.

Rules for basketball

1. Teams must consist of a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 12-15 players.
2. Games will be played in standard basketball format with 4 quarters.
3. Each game will have a duration of 32 minutes, divided into 8-minute quarters.
4. Substitutions are allowed during dead ball situations.
5. Fouls will be counted, and players will be disqualified upon reaching a certain limit.
6. The league will follow a round-robin format, with teams playing against each other at least once.
7. Playoffs will be held to determine the top teams for the championship game.
8. Sportsmanship and fair play are expected from all participants.
9. Any disputes or rule violations will be handled by the league officials.
10. Have fun, compete with integrity, and showcase your basketball skills in the spirit of friendly competition!
