Hiniling ni Gobernador Amado I. Espino III ang pagsailalim sa General Community Quarantine o GCQ with heightened restrictions ang probinsya ng Pangasinan simula Setyembre 1 hanggang 15.

Sa kanyang pinadala na sulat kagabi Agosto 27 sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Screening and Validation Committee, sinabi ni Gobernador Espino na malaking tulong ang paglalagay sa mas mataas na community quarantine classification at higher risk classification ang buong lalawigan bunsod ng patuloy na pagtaas ng mga kaso ng Covid 19.

“The escalation of the quarantine risk qualification to GCQ with heightened restrictions shall allow us to implement more stringent protocols to curb the rapid spread of the dreaded disease,” ani Espino sa kanyang liham sa National IATF na kanyang idinaan kay Director Julie J. Daquioag ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region I Office at Chairman ng Region 1- IATF.

Kalakip sa nasabing sulat ang aprubado na Resolution No. 05-2021 na pinirmahan ng mga miyembro ng Provincial IATF.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang Pangasinan ay nasa ilalim ng Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) hanggang Agosto 31, at kung sakali na maaprobahan ang apela ni Gobernador Espino, ito ang pinakaunang GCQ with heightened restrictions status ng probinsya na nakapagtala na ng kabuuang bilang na 18,526 Covid confirmed cases mula ng mag-umpisa ang pandemya.

Paniniwala ni Espino na ang pagtala ng tatlong kaso ng Delta variant sa Pangasinan ang siyang dahilan ng community transmission na nagresulta sa hindi inaasahan na pagtaas ng mga bagong Covid cases na umabot sa bilang na 1,944 new confirmed active cases simula Agosto 22 (202 cases); Agosto 23 (317 cases); Agosto 24 (344 cases); Agosto 25 (489 cases) at Agosto 26 (592 cases) o apat na magkakasunod na araw lamang mula sa 30 na bilang na aktibong kaso noong Agosto 21.

Sa datos ng Provincial Health Office (PHO), nasa 2,429 na ang mga aktibong kaso at nasa 189 pa lamang bilang ng new recoveries as of August 26.

Ang Dagupan City ay nakapagtala ng 388 na bilang ng new Covid cases sa isang araw mula sa 93 daily cases nito, at ang probinsya naman ay nakapagtala ng 43 na mga bagong namatay dahil sa Covid 19 kung saan 15 dito ang namatay sa loob lamang ng isang araw.

Samantala, sa ipinatawag na virtual meeting kahapon ng umaga ni Gobernador Espino sa mga cities/municipal IATF, hiniling nito ang pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan na iparating sa mga Pangasinenses ang kahalagan ng disiplina na malaking kontribusyon upang mapababa ang Covid cases sa kanilang komunidad.

“We are on challenging times na talagang nakakaalarma na at dahil dito ay may mga bayan na tayo na humiling sa akin na itaas ang kanilang quarantine status, at may mga bayan na nag-granular lockdown na sa kanilang mga barangays,” dagdag ni Espino.

Dagdag pa niya ang nagsara na ng ilang mga pribadong hospitals dahil sa umaapaw na ang kanilang mga pasyente, at maging ang Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) ay lumagpas na rin sa 143% sa Covid dedicated bed capacity nito.

“Nagpadagdag na nga ako ng mga additional makeshift tents para gamitin na isolation area upang ma-accommodate lamang ang mga dumadaming pasyente na gustong magpagamot upang maisalba ang kanilang buhay,” malungkot na sinabi ng Gobernador.

Sa nasabing zoom meeting, nagbigay ng Pangasinan COVID updates si PHO Chief Dra. Anna Theresa de Guzman sa mga lokal IATF counterparts kung saan sinabi nito na sampung bayan ang nasa 25% critical zone.

Ito ay ang mga bayan ng Calasiao, Urdaneta City, Pozorrubio, Lingayen, Bugallon, Aguilar, Infanta, Sta Barbara, Binalonan at Mangaldan kabilang ang Dagupan City.

Ayon sa datos ng PHO, mula sa kabuuang 18,526 na kaso sa probinsya, nasa 15,543 dito ang recovered habang umabot na 554 ang bilang ng mga namamatay dahil sa Covid-19.

Napag-alaman din sa datos na ang malaking bilang na 2,415 cases ay mula sa may edad 66 pataas habang pumangalawa ang mga nasa edad 30 hanggang 34 na may 1,954 cases, at ang mga nasa edad 25 hanggang 29 na nasa 1,941 cases.

Sa mga age group naman mula isa hanggang apat na taon ay may naitalang kaso na 410 cases, 397 cases mula sa 5-9 years old samantalang nasa 558 cases ang mula sa 10-14 years old.

Kasama ni Gobernador Espino sa marathon meetings ang mga miyembro ng Provincial IATF kabilang si Provincial Administrator Atty. Ni**od S. Camba, Provincial Health Officer Dra. Anna Theresa de Guzman, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Ret. Col. Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro kasama ang kani-kanilang mga personnel staff.
