She demonstrated a sharp mind and a love of study at Darwin. She inspired her classmates with her profound knowledge of difficult and important ideas, which demonstrated her intelligence. She tackled academics and interactions with grace and modesty, and her commitment to brilliance was impressive.
The success of Cez, among other things, was based on a strong academic foundation. Her excellent performance and recognition among the top students in her class are a reflection of her talent and focused approach. Both within and outside the classroom, she embodied the core values of Darwin International School: Godliness, Integrity, Courage, Excellence, and Discipline.
Beyond her academic accomplishments, Cez fostered a friendly and encouraging environment with her warmth and sincere concern for others. She was a good role model for her classmates because of her warm and motivating personality.

CARL DANIEL F. FABIAN: DARWINIAN TOPS CIVIL ENGINEERING EXAM
We are overjoyed to announce the fantastic news regarding Carl Daniel Falcon Fabian, one of our respected alumni. We couldn't be more pleased with Carl's recent accomplishment because he is a shining example of the caliber of extraordinary people who have graduated from Darwin International School.
Carl finished third among the top 10 in the 2022 Engineering Board Exam. This is an exceptional accomplishment resulting from his brilliance, hard work, and dedication. We are confident that he will keep progressing in his career and significantly contribute to the engineering community and Philippine society as a whole.
Carl earned a reputation for having several outstanding talents while attending Darwin International School. He was extremely amiable, humble, and always willing to provide a helping hand to his fellow Darwinians and teachers. He usually had a smile on his face. He was a true doer who pushed himself to achieve academic success, never backing down from any task or obstacle.
Carl Daniel has accomplished so much since leaving our school; we are immensely proud of him. We are confident that he will continue uplifting others and inspire other Darwinians to achieve big dreams. We wish him the best of luck in his future activities and have no doubt that he will keep positively impacting the world around him.
In these modern times, education demands a creative approach to attain positive results in students. It is essential that we focus on long-lasting methods that equip learners with fundamental knowledge, skills, attitudes, and humane values necessary to contribute to society, achieve personal success, and attain happiness. They also need to be able to navigate well in globally competitive environments.
As we meet students daily, we continuously develop an increasing understanding of the importance of providing comprehensive instruction that is inclusive and relevant to each student’s needs. To achieve this, collaborating with fellow educators as well as administrators and engaging in discussions that center around finding solutions that are practical and sustainable is so crucial. It is important to come together with like-minded and committed innovators who share the same vision for education reforms.
At Darwin International School, our chief aim is to have a hands-on approach when it comes to interacting with pupils. Through mentoring and quality instruction, until they achieve mastery, we aim to provide a positive learning environment that fosters growth and development. As we continue to address the challenges in the education system, it is important to remember that every effort counts. Small steps can create significant results that eventually lead to larger changes.
HOW A TEACHER'S VLOG CONNECTED ACROSS CONTINENTS: A STORY OF ART, DISTANCE, DREAMING BIG, LIFELONG LEARNING, AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE
AN INSPIRING MESSAGE
As an educator, receiving messages from inspired students is a true privilege. Recently, Kevin Eliscupides, one of my former students at Darwin International School who now resides in the United States as a practicing nurse, reached out to express his appreciation for my YouTube vlog titled "Approximately P150M worth of art treasures!" The vlog features my top picks of artworks from the Salcedo Auctions' exhibit for their March 18, 2020 auctions.
In his message, Kevin says: "I loved the vlog, prof!!! Looking forward to the next one! I can feel that I got my subconscious love for art and paintings from you. It was also through your guidance that I developed an interest in watches." On his Facebook wall, he tagged me for his reposting of the YouTube vlog, asking his friends to support my channel: "Like and subscribe to THE ONE who I look up to for many years now. The subconscious reason why I like watches and art!"
REACHING MORE PEOPLE
I used to personally lecture Kevin and his classmates in museums during Darwin study tours. However, as I grew older, I realized that changing my medium of teaching from personal lectures to vlogs on art could reach more people. This decision enabled me to share my knowledge and passion for art with a wider audience, including Kevin, who now resides in the United States. I am glad that I have been able to continue to inspire and educate people like Kevin, even from afar.
Kevin's message was particularly touching as he still remembers the art lessons he had with me and credits his love for art to my guidance. He even shared a screenshot of his favorite painting from my vlog, a stunning HR Ocampo piece, with me beside the masterpiece!
GENERATIONAL LEARNING
What made this experience even more rewarding was learning that he shared my video with his one-year-old son, who was watching it in repeat mode. As a teacher, it is a joy to see that my passion for art has been passed down to the next generation. Kevin even took a photo of his son watching my vlog, emphasizing how much he believes that exposing his child early to art is also letting him learn from me, even though we are physically far apart. He said: "Your video is currently in repeat mode, being watched by our little one. Parang tinuturuan nyo na din sya from afar with these beautiful pieces. Thank you po!"
I am proud to have featured some of the top-caliber Filipino artists in my vlog, including Romulo Olazo, Lao Lianben, Arturo Luz, Ramon Orlina, and Benedicto "Bencab" Cabrera. These artists have contributed immensely to the local and global art scene, and I am happy to have played a small part in spreading their influence further.
PASSION FOR LIFE
Kevin, who is also an entrepreneur and co-owner of Dragon Fruit Depot, a very famous dragon fruit farm in the Philippines that he financed from his savings as a nurse, expressed his desire to join me on one of my art exhibit visits in the future. A co-owner of the farm is no less than his former classmate at Darwin and now his loving wife, Krizza Eliscupides. Kevin said: "Hopefully, I can join you on one of your visits to those places. I would love to see those pieces in person. There's so much talent in our local artists, and it's so inspiring." Kevin's enthusiasm for science, business, and art is truly admirable, and it is what makes me passionate about teaching my students. Knowing that I have impacted someone's life in such a profound way makes me feel fulfilled and accomplished as an educator.
As a teacher, there is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you have made a difference in your students' lives. Receiving heartwarming messages from them is a reminder of why I am so passionate about teaching, lifelong learning, and life itself. It is a true honor to inspire and make a difference in people's lives, even from afar.
CONGRATULATIONS
As I conclude this blog post, I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Kevin and Krizza for not only being exceptional students at Darwin but also for exemplifying the characteristics of good human beings. As their teacher, I've had the honor of witnessing their growth, learning, and transformation into the remarkable individuals they are today. Their child will undoubtedly inherit the same admirable qualities that Kevin and Krizza possess. It is a privilege to be a part of their journey, and I have no doubt that they will continue to positively influence the world around them.
I would also like to congratulate Kevin and Krizza's parents, too, for raising them with love, care, and direction. Kevin and Krizza’s parents are all loving, humble, hardworking, and God-fearing. Unquestionably, their unwavering support and commitment to their children's education and personal development were instrumental in shaping Kevin and Krizza into the outstanding individuals they are today. It was a pleasure to meet and work with their parents, and I am incredibly appreciative to have been entrusted with the responsibility of not only teaching Kevin and Krizza but also co-raising them as my own. Raising a child takes a village, and I am proud to be a part of this incredible community that values education, development, and compassion.
