In honor of , let's explore the Hudhud Chants, a treasured cultural practice of the Ifugao tribe in the Philippines.
These sung narratives are traditionally performed during rice planting, harvest, and even funeral wakes. Often narrated by elder women, the chants celebrate ancestral heroes, religious beliefs, and the importance of rice cultivation. Their recitation can last days, reflecting the tribe's deep devotion to their heritage.
The Hudhud Chants earned recognition by UNESCO in 2008, inscribed on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Amidst the hues of freedom, we navigate the delicate dance between societal confines and the yearning for authenticity. As we grapple with the essence of our humanity, question the authenticity of our liberation as the shadows deepen and the world grows quiet.
Jan Nathan B. Nayra, a first-year BS Psychology Student created a piece called “The Paradox of Freedom” where amid this chaos, there lies a profound beauty. For it is in the struggle itself that we find the true essence of our humanity.
