The dance continues in Nazareth
A group of women from our street have been meeting in our simple parish hall, doing "zumba". It was a way of keeping in touch, bonding together...keeping not only their spirit healthy , but their bodies too.
It was often a deep concern for all, when one or two, can' t anymore join the dance because energies start to weaken, movements were slowing down - sickness took its toll, and death was seemingly in the offing. The pandemic has also cut this venue for solidarity and chance to come together.
Others slowly disappear from one's horizon... and one's familiar corner in the house becomes more and more narrow, limited, and sad. The street too seems more and more empty.... each one has a schedule to catch up with...and those vibrant meetings during "zumba day" seemed only a memory - a moment of one' s past and healthier years..
But Ate Fely, has made available her human and residential space open, even after the death of her husband...
A few women from our neigborhood continue to visit her and accompany her with their movements before the "zumba" instructor which is often the big screen.
On her 76th birthday, we went to join her, to celebrate the joy of this one more year of grace and thanksgiving! And the dance of Nazareth with God's accompaniment continues... today... and until when...we don' t know. But today, let the dance continue...!
"Gitawag, ta sa pag- alagad, sa tiunay tang paghalad..."
" Encountering and walking together...building our community in the Kapatiran ni St Charles de Foucauld Philippines."
It's been quite a time since we posted news about the CDF family in the Philippines which includes the Little Sisters of Jesus.
On April 1-3, the coordinating body of the Kapatiran ni St. Charles de Foucauld Philippines met for our second post- Easter gathering at the Bahay Pari, San Carlos Seminary in Manila. It was a journey of telling our stories and knowing each others' desire to follow Jesus guided by the inspiration of brother Charles.
On April 4, we had another journey which bonded us together - a trip around the Antipolo, Rizal area. We enjoyed the nature offered by these places, which are meticulously kept so we too, can nurture our environment and our spirits. We were also exploring future possibilities of CDF gatherings.
We are grateful for the welcome offered by 3 places: HOGAR (Hermitage Organic Gardens), Regina Rica, both in Tanay area, and then, the swift and meaningful visit to a family farm in Pililia Rizal whose owner was introduced to us by a faithful and supportive JC priest-friend.
Marami pong salamat sa lahat na karanasan na ito... At sa lahat ng tulong at welcome ng mga kapatid...
Sana sa uulitin...
Looking forward to similar moments when we will have more time to grow and build together as brothers and sisters.
" I am certain , the Spirit will guide us and give us the grace to move forward together, to listen to one another and to embark on a discernment of the times in which we are living, in solidarity with the struggles and aspirations of all humanity."
- Pope Francis

1️⃣ petit village d’Angleterre, 2️⃣ sœurs : une indienne, une polonaise ;

A sharing from our sisters of Masbate
Our Easter Vigil celebration started with the Dance of the Light by the youth and children. It reminds us of our journey from darkness to light, from uncertainties to something concrete - our paschal journey personally, and with our people.
During our absence for the annual meeting, the father of a family helped by the Caritas program, Kuya “J”, died suddenly. It was quite a difficult situation, a long journey on how to help the widow, Ate “J”, and the children. We worked together with Caritas Masbate, CSWD and the barangay officials…Then God came to our aid: the family of Ate “J” showed up, wanting to take care of her! Answered prayers!
During Lent, the Station of the Cross went around our area, people are grateful to be visited by the Station in their houses. It is the same with the block rosary which is a project of the Synod to reach out to more families.
Palm Sunday started with the Station of the Cross and blessing of palms in the plaza/square, with the “apostles”, the “hosanna girls”, and many people participating. On Holy Wednesday and Holy Thursday morning, the “apostles” went around our area to bless the houses.
Our Easter Vigil was long and beautiful with the complete nine readings. Our lectors and Psalmists were remarkable with their reading and singing; it was nice to see them with their vestments. During the Encuentro or Salubong, our angels did their best in singing the alleluia songs!
We were touched that there was a good collaboration among our people working during the activities, despite previous difficulties.
Regarding our daily life, Binky is back to work in the bakery. Annarita and Seraf take time with people, house and our garden. Caritas projects need some help and support with the livelihood programs like producing products from recycled materials which could be sold during the “Rodeo season”. People make brooms made from plastic bottles, coasters, bags, door mats and place mats... There has been some training for organic farming; some of the activities were done in our place.
The climate is now hot and windy. We are now preparing the soil for the rainy season with the help of some organic fertilizer which we learned to produce.
It was very good to have Sifa with us for a short time. She felt welcomed and there were many things which reminded her of her place in Congo. We realized once more that the language of the heart is more important than words. We were also happy that our hermitage can be used for her retreat, and she found a way to help in the garden, cleaning the soil. She also joined Binky for one day, working in the bakery where she is employed. She had a very enriching encounter with some workers.
We have also new neighbors; they came down from the mountain. They are allowed to build their house near that of Fr. Inteng’s place. This is not a situation without a challenge of adjustment - a constant reminder, that we are not here for ourselves, but to find ways to become sisters, manifesting a loving presence even when we cannot offer solutions to other’s problems and needs. The burdens carried by some families are too heavy to find an answer… only the Lord can help us not to give up searching together.
May the Risen Lord allow us to recognize Him when He comes on our way, in different forms and faces, to renew hope and joy to be shared in our daily encounters
Happy Easter to all!
The peace the risen Lord brings is the overflowing joy of knowing that we belong. We are loved and can love. We are in good hands. We can trust in life. It is the peace that allows us to seek the will of God, to go out on mission and bring Christ’s healing consolation to others. It is peace with oneself, knowing freedom from inflexibility, anger, and impatience. It is also the kind of peace that allows us to encounter others not as rivals but as gifts. And it is peace with creation, learning to live in partnership with all that is created and is good.
—Austen Ivereigh in First Belong to God
Peace to you this Easter season!
Alleluia!
