Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental health condition in which you can't stop thinking about a flaw in your appearance that is not seen by others. You may avoid social situations if you feel embarrassed, ashamed, and anxious.
Often you will find yourself checking the mirror or looking at your body image for many hours a day because you're obsessed with your look and image with body dysmorphic disorder. Stress is a cause of distress for you because of your perceived flaw and repetitive behaviors.

It's not known what causes body dysmorphic disorder. A family history of the disorder, negative evaluations or experiences about your body or self-image, and abnormal brain function are all possible causes of body dysmorphic disorder.

Most of us have an aspect of our appearance that we dislike, such as a flat nose, excessively big or small eyes, or an uneven smile.
A body-image issue known Body Dysmorphic Disorder is defined by intense, persistent fascinations with an imagined or slight flaw in one's appearance.
Anyone can despise any part of their body, but BDD sufferers frequently find something wrong with their hair, skin, nose, chest, or stomach. A perceived flaw could actually be a minor flaw or even nonexistent. However, the flaw is noticeable and serious for someone with BDD, frequently leading to considerable emotional anguish and challenges with daily functioning.
