UPDATE‼️

Due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, Malacañang has announced the suspension of work in government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon on October 24, 2024. This decision was made to prioritize safety and aid in government rescue and relief operations..

Exceptions:

📍Essential Services: Agencies providing basic and health services, disaster response, and vital services will continue operations.

📍Localized Suspension: Local Chief Executives may suspend classes/work in other areas, following relevant laws and regulations.

📍Private Companies: Suspension of work is at the discretion of company heads.

Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council relative to the forecasted continuous heavy rainfall due to Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine,” and to aid in the rescue and relief operations of the government, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon are hereby suspended on 24 October 2024.

​Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services are hereby directed to continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Further thereto, the localized cancellation or suspension of classes and/or work in government offices in other areas may be implemented by their respective Local Chief Executives, pursuant to relevant laws, rules and regulations.

​The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

October 18, 2024, SBNU members participated in the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), held at the Mall of Asia Music Hall.

Our reservists shared their learning experiences from the event, covering topics such as First Aid, Basic Life Support, electrical safety, rappelling, and emergency response.

On September 25, 2024, The NUM-SBNU hosted a transformative Leadership Training entitled "PiNUnong KABATAAN: Boluntaryong Paglilingkod Para sa Kaunlaran Nang Kinabukasan" at Annex 1, National University Manila. This event gathered NSRC Reservists for enriching discussions and collaborative activities aimed at enhancing their leadership skills.

The event was a success, with participants gaining valuable insights from the speakers about becoming better leaders, emphasizing that true leadership starts within. The training fostered stronger connections among participants and resulted in actionable strategies for community engagement.

A special thank you goes to the organizers, participants, and the NSTP Faculty for their vital contributions to this successful event. Together, let’s continue striving for excellence in leadership and drive meaningful change in the community!
