PCS DEVO #027

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:12‭-‬14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[12] I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. [13] No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, [14] I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Reflection:
The last part of Paul's message after he mentioned about his achievement on the past which he counted it as rubbish, for its reason is the reward here on earth cannot compare the reward from heaven where "it is eternal reward".

Therefore, we don't have to give up on the this call. Let pursue our assignment and finish our course. Hebrews 12:1, 2 encourages that we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. And keep focus on Jesus, and guard our hearts from any distraction and schemes of the devil.

We are candidate to receive the prize because here on earth we are entitled victorious one.

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:7‭-‬10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[7] I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. [8] Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ [9] and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. [10] I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,

Reflection
Paul encourages us to focus on what God prepared for us, not on what we achieved in life were bringing you to "self focus mentality". Paul counted it as rubbish or worthless where it will not compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ in his life.

Let us serve the Lord sincerely and faithfully not because we need applause of men, but applause of Heaven where God was so pleased of your obedience. We served not driven by title or achievement, we served because this is the assignment of God to us.

To know more of Christ is to place him into your heart, not into your mind.

‭‭John‬ ‭21:20‭-‬23‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[20] Peter turned around and saw behind them the disciple Jesus loved—the one who had leaned over to Jesus during supper and asked, “Lord, who will betray you?” [21] Peter asked Jesus, “What about him, Lord?” [22] Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me.” [23] So the rumor spread among the community of believers that this disciple wouldn’t die. But that isn’t what Jesus said at all. He only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”

Reflection
This event was, when Jesus shown Himself to His disciple and spend His time to fellowship with them. Jesus, asked Peter about "his sincerity love" to Jesus three times, which it was a sacred moment in Peter's life, as his Lord pulled back about his future.
Peter looked around at his fellow disciples. His glance fell upon "John", the "disciple whom Jesus loved". Peter said, "But Lord, what about this man? Peter had just been given the sad news of his future death.

How natural to compare his assignment with that of others. This is the great temptation of God's servant, to compare our situation with that of others.

We may have different assignment from God, some are too heavy to carry and some are too easy to do. It doesn't matter what assignment do you have, the matter is how obedient we are to Him. Peter was so committed but when times of persecution, he denied Jesus. Meanwhile, John's commitment is up to witness in death of Jesus at the cross. He followed His Lord.

Make your assignment and be committed, never compare your works with others.

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:1‭-‬4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[1] My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. [2] If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. [3] Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. [4] Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.

Reflection
The book of Proverbs is a book of wisdom that God intently speaks to His people of what they should do and what they should go. He doesn't want to control us of what He wants, but to realign our lifes on the path. In order to align our path is to get hid and ponder His word of wisdom in your heart and binding it into your neck.

Deep within the heart of every believer is a desire and a need to commune with their God. The simplest understand to experience God is to know clearly when He is speaking.

If Christian doesn't know when God is speaking, that person is in trouble at the core of his or her Christian life. Question is, "Are you having difficulty hearing God's Voice?" There is a urging moment that We have validate our connection and our relationship to God.

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19:10‭-‬11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[10] Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing. [11] Be sure they are ready on the third day, for on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai as all the people watch.

Reflection:
This is the very time that the people will meet the Lord through in the mount Sinai. And God wanted them to be prepared and make themselves holy as they stand in front of the presence of God.

What message can we get here? It addresses us that before we go in the presence of God, we have to set our minds and hearts to Him. We cannot spend day after day in the world without it's affecting your mind and will and heart. It doesn't take to long to become disoriented to the ways of God.

The world has a dulling effect on your spiritual sensibilities if you will not be aware. You cannot catch the very RHEMA if you are covered by "world's dullness".
