Cruz III will officially kick off this year’s edition of International Film Industry Conference with a keynote address focusing on the developments in the film industry as the world eases down on pandemic restrictions and as cinemas reopen its doors, and how the FDCP endeavors to support the industry in the changing film landscape.

About the Speaker

Tirso S. Cruz III is a multi-awarded film, theater, and television actor with a career spanning five decades. He assumed the role of Chairman and CEO of the Film Development Council of the Philippines in July of 2022. Education, film industry support, and film archiving are front and center in Chairman Cruz’s new vision for the FDCP. Chairman Cruz leads the national agency for film towards the creation and the sustainability of programs that are more inclusive, equitable, and globally progressive by streamlining FDCP's existing programs while adapting to the new realities of the cinema art and business in the Philippines and throughout the world.

Ngayong araw, September 12, ipinagdiriwang ng Film Development Council of the Philippines ang ika-103 na anibersaryo ng Philippine cinema bilang pagpupugay sa unang pagpapalabas ng “Dalagang Bukid” ni Jose Nepomuceno, ang kauna-unahang pelikulang ipinalabas sa Pilipinas na mula sa direksyon at produksyon ng isang Pilipino.

Patuloy na ipagdiriwang at kikilanin ng FDCP ang lahat ng mga natatanging ambag ng mga bumubuo sa industriya ng Pelikulang Pilipino—sa likod at harap ng mga kamera—ngayong ikalawang-taon ng Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM).
