On March 13, we visited four evacuation centers in Las Pinas in response to fire incidents. In addition to providing seven weeks of consecutive feeding for victims of the Pilar fire, we revisited the San Isidro - Manuyo Dos Evacuation Center. We also extended assistance to those affected by the recent fire disaster on April 11 in Greenhills, Barangay San Dionisio, Paranaque, where approximately 180 individuals were affected. We were met with hopeful eyes and grateful smiles as they shared stories of how high school students donated their lunch boxes to the community.
We are grateful for your support and invite you to partner with us in aiding our fellow Filipinos who have been displaced.

With your help, we have been able to continuously care for the victims of the recent nearby fire incidents during our weekly operations. We are blessed to be a blessing to the temporary shelters in Pilar, Elias Adana (both in Las Piñas), and San Isidro, Parañaque. Last April 6, we also got to show up for the impacted residents of the Manuyo Dos-San Isidro fire.
It was around 6:58 PM on April 1, 2024 when the fire hit the boundaries of Brgy. Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City and Brgy. San Isidro, Parañaque City. This fifth-alarm fire, which took almost ten hours to extinguish, displaced a total of 330 families - 1,016 individuals - who are currently housed in two different evacuation centers within each barangay.
It was evident how their hearts were overwhelmed with our visit - overwhelmed with the love brought by our hot cooked meals and with their yearning for help.
Be a source of hope to these families in need.

March: Fire Prevention Month
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), an alarming 3,034 fire incidents have been reported from January 1 to March 1 of this year alone.
So in line with this year's theme of "Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa" (In Avoiding Fires, You Are Not Alone), let us, as a community, join hands in raising awareness and promoting a safer environment for all.
Here are some steps you can take that would help:
Safeguard your own homes - make sure that fire extinguishers are always available, test your fire alarms, and keep important contact numbers readily available.
Educate - Take time to educate yourselves and others about fire safety measures. Create escape plans and always remember your exit points. Conduct fire drills as necessary.
Spread the word - Your voice can be used to help! Sharing what you know is a huge step.
We can all take responsibility in fire prevention. We can work hand-in-hand to ensure that we are safe and .
Remember: In avoiding fires, you are not alone.
As the 125 families affected by the second-alarm fire in Maligaya Compound, Brgy. Pilar, Las Piñas continue to tread their paths to recovery, NLCOM carried on with extending help and ministering to them in the past five weeks.
We were able to promote healthy recuperation in the children by conducting Psychological First Aid, aside from the weekly feeding of hot meals for the families and fun kiddie activities. It was such a sight of grace to see how the kids would excitedly gather as soon as they see the team and would ask for more activities, not wanting it to end. To see the grown-ups grinning while watching the children enjoy and to hear many of them express their appreciation for the time spent with them was truly heartening.
We responded with the desire to alleviate the loss and despair that they are feeling. It may only have been momentary, but the compassion bestowed surely etched a long-lasting mark in their hearts.

Another fire incident swept a residential area in Barangay San Isidro, Parañaque last Tuesday evening, February 27, 2024. The approximately 300 families (around 900 individuals) displaced are temporarily housed in San Dionisio Gym.
Our NLCOM team, being always , was able to serve families with hot cooked meals last Saturday afternoon. While the devastation in the fire victims could not be denied, what stood out more was the hope gleaming in the eyes of every individual the team was able to engage with.
Their smiles and heartfelt “thank you’s” showed their remarkable resilience in this time of adversity. Their unity and cooperation as they patiently lined up truly showed the spirit of “Bayanihan.”
Even with resilience and “bayanihan,” our kababayans affected by such incidents still need your help. Scan the QR code on the last photo to know the different ways you can partner with us.

This initiative is a proactive step towards enhancing our collective ability to ensure safety during our services and operations. We believe in investing in the skills that help us create a secure environment for everyone.
A big thank you to the IKMF Team and Chief Dindo for facilitating the training! Together, let us make security a top priority!
This week, NLCOM distributed a total of 913 sets of 5- gallon container with water to families currently seeking refuge in various evacuation centers in Davao City. What better way to jumpstart another gratifying year of RESPONDING, REACHING OUT, and REBUILDING LIVES than by having our NLCOM Sunday!
Sharing ways on how YOU can also be part of our mission - that’s also love and compassion demonstrated right there. We are grateful for the volunteers and supporters who did exactly that last Sunday, as they purposefully encouraged everyone to join and be one of them, or to take part in Community Ready Pledges and donations for Rebuilding. We are even more grateful for the overwhelming responses from the congregation who were “All in!” in partnering with us.
Send us a message to partner with us too!
From Valerie Ann Roquero, one of our Metro Sidewalk Sunday School teachers:
"Rebuild, Restore, Reassemble
These words might be similar to each other, but as a part of NLCOM; Rebuild means more than restoring the community or rebuilding something that has been damaged.
Rebuild is transforming into something worthy and graceful. We are rebuilding smiles, rebuilding spirit, and restoring faith within every child. As a person who personally came from the 'Telon' in Sidewalk Sunday School, I can say that I was rebuilt and I became better.
Time had passed since then. I never saw myself teaching kids, or helping people like what I'm doing now. We might not notice that we are saving a child from something they have been going through.
That's the goal, to make every child feel worthy and rebuilt. That is REBUILD for us.”
From Aileen Orencio, our Core Volunteer and Mobile Kitchen Head:
"To respond and to reach out to disaster area is very challenging yet very fulfilling. My very first and most memorable experience to reach out was last September of 2018 ng magkaroon ng landslide sa Itogon, Benguet.
Our call time is 2:00 AM every day para magluto ng breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We stayed in Itogon for 1 week and one of those days, after we finished cooking, sinama ako nila Ps. Paul/Ps. I was teary eyed upon seeing the little children and the lolos and lolas smilling at us.
Nagkaroon ako ng realization why we do what we do… Because God loves these people, at sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay sa kanila ng foods ganun na lang ang pasasalamat nila sa Diyos at sa NLCOM Team!
I thank and praise God for giving me the opportunity and privilege to be part of New Life Community Care, to be His hand and feet. In such a time as this, my heart’s desire is to give my best to serve Him as my response for His goodness and faithfulness to me and my family!
I am committed to Respond, Reach out and Rebuild!"
Keene Calipara on what it means to RESPOND:
"It all began with the desire to help, and of course, the phrase “disaster response” has its ring to it. Throughout my journey as a volunteer in NLCOM, I realized that it meant something more than just the desire and the appealing side of it. I understood that it is best to respond than to react. Responding entails the processing of facts, emotions, and thoughts among other things. And definitely, responding requires preparation – physical, mental, and even spiritual. On a spiritual note, Jesus was the first responder and He has been calling us to respond as well.
NLCOM doesn’t just react to a particular situation or need. It prepares beforehand and determines the appropriate approach to an endeavor. I believe too that there’s a consistent “call to respond” and never “a call to react” especially in the days we live in. I am with NLCOM in responding to that call."
NLCOM firmly stands strong on the essential pillars of our community.
is not merely a slogan, they are the core values that inspire and define our commitment to making a positive impact. They're the driving force behind our efforts and dedication.
We invite you to see how our volunteers stand true to these statements, so stay tuned!

Our Story
New Life Community Care Foundation International, Inc. began in 2003 when Paul Chase was led to respond to the needs of abandoned and neglected street children, in partnership with the local government of Muntinlupa.
However, when super-typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) hit the Philippines in 2013, the magnitude of the calamity prompted Paul Chase and volunteers from New Life Alabang to answer to the immense need felt in Tacloban and its surrounding areas. A makeshift kitchen was built in Tacloban and it was able to produce 6,000 hot meals everyday to help feed the school children recovering from the disaster. This was made possible through partnership with locals in Tacloban who desired to help rebuild their city and Rev. Kim Beam Kon of Truly Good Friends Corporation from South Korea. The feeding program lasted for a year and this cooperation led to the establishment of New Life Community Care Foundation with a broader mandate: from helping street children to responding to emergencies and disasters.
As disasters continue to rise, New Life Community Care Foundation envisions a network of skilled volunteers standing in the gap, stepping up to meet needs by responding, reaching out and rebuilding the lives of families and communities in the event of disasters.
