LOOK | To achieve the spirit of partnership, the Rotary Club of Loyola Heights along with the Jose P. Laurel Sr. High School and Interact Club inked an oath of office in the Day of Service memorandum signing program, August 16.

Dr. Johannsen C. Yap, Assistant Principal II/Officer-in-Charge expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders' collaboration like the Rotary Club of Loyola Heights in attaining the schools upcoming projects.

Furthermore, the Interact club of JPLSHS also pledged to their responsibilities as newly elected officers, led by MRP Marie Olivia Mendoza.

Nerissa Lingan, Interact adviser supervised the said program.

HAPPENING NOW || Magical Rotary and Interact Day of Service held a Dermatology Medical Check-up for students and teachers, school clinic, August 16.

Marie Olivia Mendoza, Magical President of the Rotary Club of Loyola Heights led the medical mission.

Moreover, Dr. Sophia L. Verallo oriented the students on medical check-up procedures and different types of skin diseases and its treatment.

Interactors facilitated the program together with Nerissa P. Lingan, Interact Club adviser.

Grade 9 and 10 oriented on Psychological First Aid (PFA) Seminar, JPLSHS rooftop, August 12.

Jericho Paolo "Joco" Mabanag, Crossroads Lead Trainer and resource speaker shared on how Laurelians deal with the essential values and importance of PFA.

"Kailangan natin ang isa't isa. Kailangan natin ng suporta ng ibang tao kaya lahat tayo kailangan ng psychological first aid" Mabanag said.

Dr. Johannsen C. Yap, Assistant Principal II/Officer-in-Charge; Maria Elena San Luis and Fe Mozo, Grade 10 supervising heads; Maricel Pajara and Rosalie Zingapan, Grade 9 supervising heads; Ryan Noel Doรฑa, Head Teacher III, Grade 9 and 10 advisers and subject teachers were also present to oversee the program.

The seminar was organized by the ESP department headed by Brenda Cairo, Head Teacher III, alongside Perpetua Ruiz, Master Teacher I and ESP teachers.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | To maintain the cleanliness of the school, Dr. Johannsen C. Yap, Assistant Principal II/Officer-in-Charge reminded Laurelians of no littering policy in the school premises during the flag ceremony, JPLSHS covered court, August 12.

Moreover, Dr. Yap advised students to dispose their garbage properly and encouraged to use the app โ€˜Oky Philippinesโ€™ for women during menstrual periods.

Afterwards, SMASHED recognized teachers for organizing 1164 young people to join the Alcohol Awareness Education Program last February 26.

The following teachers received Certificate of Recognition for their dedication and passion for educating young people in making responsible choices and having a positive attitude towards alcohol namely, Emmanuel Halabaso Jr., Judel Delos Reyes, Ariel San Luis, Aldin Bonifacio, Irene Cruz, Jenny Lyn Roncales, Agnes Otivar, Jerramy Del Castillo, Vina Agapito, Maricel Pajara, Alinae Salvador, Romeda Tadeja, Rosa Patosa, and Maireen Agarao and Maria Elena San Luis.

๐—๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ผ ๐—Ÿ. ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ด, Crossroads Lead Trainer is the resource speaker that deals with mental health, that will help Laurelians to improve themselves in coping with personal struggle, enhance the ability to open up problems, feel understood, and let them know that they are not alone in their struggle.

Dr. Johannsen C. Yap, Assistant Principal/Officer-in-Charge expressed his gratitude to the speaker and participants, also he encourages students to keep on having positive well-being to likely perform better and achieve academic success.

The said seminar is spearheaded by the ESP Department led by Brenda B. Cairo, Head Teacher III and Perpetua C. Ruiz, Master Teacher I.

The head teachers, Grade 7 and 8 advisers, and subject teachers were also present in the seminar.

Filipino Month Celebration with the theme "Filipino Wikang Mapagpalaya" commences a First Friday Mass officiated by Fr. Billy Juan of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish, schools covered court, August 2.

The Filipino Department sponsored the said mass headed by Rosalie I. Zingpan and followed by the blessings of the Laurel Haven Building.

The head teachers Fe A. Mozo, Ryan Noel A. Doรฑa, Maria Elena C. San Luis, Maricel L. Pajara, Jun B. Nalayog, and assistant principal II/OIC Dr. Johannsen C. Yap were also present in the ceremony.

Upang maiwasan ang panganib na dulot ng matinding init, dalasan ang pag inom ng tubig at kung maaari, iwasan ang matagal na pagbibilad sa araw. Maliban dito, makatutulong kung magsusuot ng presko at light-colored na damit.

Tadeja, news editor, for having passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) 2024.

More so, they are among the 15,000 accepted applicants out of approximately 100,000 UPCAT examinees nationwide.

According to DRRMO, when the heat index reaches 40ยฐC and up, the public schools will implement alternative delivery modes of learning (synchronous/ asynchronous).

Caution, this level of temperature may cause heat exposure, heat cramps, and heat stroke. Everyone is advised to stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure.

This is based on QC LGU Memorandum Circular No. 10-A series of 2022, DepEd Order No. 037 series of 2022

Attention Laurelians

ADVISORY

7 April 2024 - In order to allow learners to complete pending assignments, projects and other requirements, all public schools nationwide shall implement ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES/DISTANCE LEARNING on Monday, 8 April 2024.

Likewise, teaching and non-teaching personnel in all public schools shall not be required to report to their stations.

Finally, private schools shall not be covered by this advisory but shall have the option to implement the same.

To become the force that drives progress, the Quezon City Public Library Gender and Development (QCPL GAD) Committee in partnership with Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) conducted a seminar on Dealing with Sexual Harassment at School for selected Grade 7-10 students at the SB Rooftop, March 21.

This initiative drives to empower and promote the human rights of women and girls and to educate them on how to deal with sexual harassment at school mandated by the Republic Act 7877 or the Anti Sexual Harassment Act and the Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Space Act (Bawal Bastos Law).

Mary Ann L. Bernal, OIC - Asst. City Librarian, QCPL emphasized in her opening remarks that this initiative is just one of the many seminars that will be conducted in all the six districts in Quezon City by the QCPL GAD Committee in partnership with QCPL and JPLSHS.

Moreover, the Consultant of QC Protection Center, Dr. Sandy Montano served as the speaker of the seminar.

Dr. Montano tackled in the seminar RA 7877 and RA 11313, its objectives, prescriptive period, committed by and to, who is liable, the result of the action, its penalty, and what to do when you experience such sexual harassment.

She also stated that there is the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) to investigate properly in case the incident happened in school and that there is the Guidance Office to help the abused student.

โ€œTake advantage of your youthfulness and the 4Ts which are Time, Talent, Technology, and Treasure,โ€ she added.

Currently, there are 26 branches of Quezon City Public Library and they are as follows: Bagong Pag-asa, Balingasa, Masambong, Project 7, Project 8, Nayong Kanluran, District I; Payatas Landfill, Payatas Lupang Pangako, Bagong Silangan, Holy Spirit, District II; Greater Project 4, Escopa II, Escopa III, Tagumpay, District III; Cubao, San Isidro Galas, Krus na Ligas, Roxas, UP Campus-Pook Dagohoy, UP Campus-Pook Amorsolo, District IV; Lagro, Novaliches, North Fairview, District V; Pasong Tamo, Talipapa, Sagana Homes 1, District VI.

โ€œDr. Montano's talk aims to provide knowledge about Sexual Harassment to women and to build a culture of respect and dignity,โ€ Janet Alday, Head of the Law Section emphasized in her closing remarks.

The organizers of the said program provided food and flyers for students.
