Ito po ay isang paalaala ukol sa vision ng mga sanggol at bata.👶🏻🧒🏻

Alam nyo ba na may milestones din ang vision ng mga bata?👀

Unti-unti nag-mamature ang vision at galaw ng mata ng bata sa unang 2-3taon ng buhay. 🧐

Nakakatulong sa maayos na pagdevelop ng mata ng bata ang natural na stimulation (tumitingin sa tao, hayop, mga tanawin, laruan atbp) imbes sa artipisyal na pinapanuod sa screentime. 📵🙅🏻

Ito ay dahil kinakailangan mag debelop ang depth perception (pag tantsa ng lalim ng mga gamit), fixation (pag sunod sa galaw na nasa malayo at malapit), peripheral vision (pagtingin sa gamit na nasa gilid) at iba pang aspeto.🤓

Ang pediatric eye screening ay isinasagawa upang masubaybayan ang kanilang vision sa panahon na sila ay
1. Pinanganak 🤱
2. 6 months👶🏻
3. 3 years 🧒🏻
4. 5 years 👦🏻
5. 7 years 👧🏻

Sumasabay ito sa natural na pag-mature ng vision at mga kritikal na panahon ng kanilang debelopment.👀

Mahalaga naman ang comprehensive eye exam o kumpletong pagsaliksik ng vision ng bata kapag sila ay may ibang kalakip na problem na maaring magka komplikasyon sa mata, tulad ng
1. Pinanganak na premature o kulang sa buwan (mababa sa 32 weeks), kulang sa timbang (mababa sa 1.5kilo) 👶🏻
2. Nagkaroon ng impeksyon o komplikasyon sa pagpapanganak o sa unang ilang buwan ng buhay ( nasalinan, tinubo, kinulang sa oksigen, pinanganak na may syphilis, CMV, rubella atbp) 🤒
3. May kapansanan neurolohika (Down's syndrome, global developmental delay, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, meningitis, mahina ang pandinig atbp.)🧠

Huwag kalimutan bigyang pansin ang mata ng mga bata. Mahalaga ito sa kanilang kinabukasan.

Alalahanin, hinde lahat ng "OPTA" at "OPTO" ay pare-pareho.
Ang OPTOMETRIST ay isang tao na kumukuha ng sukat ng grado sa mata upang gawan ng salamin.
Ang OPHTHALMOLOGIST ay isang doktor para sa pangkalahatang kalusugan ng mata.

Kapag may agam-agam ukol sa paningin at paggalaw ng mata ni baby, maaaring lumapit sa inyong PEDIATRICIAN, OPHTHALMOLOGIST o CHILD NEUROLOGIST upang masubaybayan. 👨‍🔬

Lagi ba nag ta-tantrum o nagwawala si baby, si ate o kuya? Madalas ba ginagamit ang screentime para patahimikin sila?

Here are a few reminders for those caring for children with epilepsy:

1. Make sure you have enough medication at home. Huwag antayin na paubos na ang gamot at nagmamadaling magkonsulta o magpa-refill. Kapag ganitong maulan, bumabagyo at bumabaha, maaaring mahirap bumiyahe patungong hospital. Mas mahirap maubusan ng gamot at abutin ng seizure sa bahay. Siguraduhin na may sapat na supply sa bahay.

2. Keep dry and warm. Eat healthy. Iwasan ang magkasakit at nakakababa ito ng seizure threshold. Mainam na palakasin ang resistensya sa pamamagitan ng pagkain ng tamang uri nang pagkain. Huwag masanay sa matatamis, maaalat, junk food, fast food at mga pagkain na instant o puro preservative, chemicals at coloring. Maligo nang maligamgam at magpatuyo agad pagka nanggaling sa ulan upang mawala ang lamig nang katawan.

3. Maintain a good sleep routine. Panatilihin ang tamang oras at haba ng tulog upang mabigyan ng sapat na pahinga ang isip at katawan. Mahalaga ang sapat na tulog lalo na sa mga bata at ito ay nakakatulong sa tamang kalusugan at pagpapalakas ng isip at katawan. Mahalaga ang tamang kalidad ng tulog upang maiwasan ang pag-atake ng seizure.

4. Exercise your body. Huwag hayaang nakahiga at buong araw manunuod ng palabas. Bigyan ng tamang ehersisyo ang katawan at isip. Gamitin ang pagkakataon na walang pasok at maaaring tumulong sa gawaing bahay o mag ligpit ng kuwarto. Maari din mag light exercises tulad ng calisthenics, yoga, stretching.

5. Mind your mind. Gamitin ang pagkakataon na makipag bonding, mag-basa ng libro, matuto ng bagong skill o hobby. Pagyamanin ang isip at kaluluwa at manalangin, magbasa ng bibliya. Kailangan natin lahat ng lakas ng loob at tulong ng Maykapal upang lagpasan ang bawat pagsubok.

Every child, especially those with intellectual disabilities, must have sufficient opportunities and community support to provide them with the means to become more capable members of our society.
