Don't forget to bring your Marian Conference pass as well (Litany of Humility prayer card distributed by all HOLD Sector Coordinators/ Provincial Coordinators). Please be advised that no prayer cards, no entry to the Conference.

Happy looooooong weekend! Simula kahapon hanggang Monday, walang pasok! Saya, di ba? Pero, aware ba tayo kung bakit? May fiesta ba? What are we celebrating?

The better question is, what are we commemorating? Let's talk about the reasons for the long weekend, and remember the heroism of the Filipinos in the past who made it possible for us to enjoy what we have in the present. May kasabihan nga: "Ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makararating sa paroroonan." Kaya halina at samahan sina Roseberry at Chucky (hala, si Jeremy naman ang mami-miss n'yo...) mamayang 4:00pm sa sa isang makabayan at maka-bayaning talakayan. Let us include the CFC International Council in our prayers as they embark on their annual exercise of discernment this weekend and the IC planning next week.

Mother Mary, cover them with your mantle of love and protection.
St. Joseph, Terror of demons, spare them from the enemy’s distractions.
O Holy Spirit, inspire them and lend them Your wisdom.
St. Michael the Archangel, protect them from the snares and wickedness of the devil.

We pray for everyone affected by Typhoon Carina in the Philippines. Rains have been non-stop and many areas are flooded. Lord, please keep your children safe.

Reflections on A Very Extra-Ordinary CIW Medical Mission

Our regular HOLD monthly activity days in CIW are 3rd Fridays General Assembly, and 4th Fridays Medical Mission, both in the Chapel.

Last Friday September 22, we had our regular medical mission at 9am. It started with a General Pray-over by Dr. Shonee Anden, Dr. Grace Pasigan and some CIW HOLD leaders over the patients to allay their fears and stresses. Then she, together with Dr. Grace Pasigan, went on to take care of 35 patients.

On one side of the Chapel Dory Sarmiento was conducting a teaching for the top leaders of CIW HOLD (around 25 members) to form and strengthen them as shepherds of their household, unit, chapter.

In one corner we had 2 guest observers (healers) who were interviewing Handmaids, listening to their life stories, giving them a sympathetic ear and packets of herbal tea and healing oil.

The CIW service team had pre-screened the patients, making sure that in this batch there were no repeaters so everyone would eventually have the chance to consult a doctor. At the moment they were busy taking the blood pressure of the patients, patiently guiding the elderly ones to and from the doctors, while others were dispensing medicines prescribed. And let us not forget the HOLD chapel workers who prepared the venue.

This particular medical mission had the spiritual aspect (pray-over), physical aspect (consultation/medicines), psychological (active listening) and educational (teaching). As I looked around at all that was going on, I could not help but think – this is truly an example of following Jesus’ command – the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and your neighbor as yourself. Truly this was not one of our ordinary medical missions. This was an Extra-Ordinary Medical Mission powered by love of God and love of neighbor.

And then, on October 24, the Lord surprised HOLD with a gesture of appreciation from the CIW, on the occasion of the 29th National Correctional Consciousness Week. To God be the glory! (Bel Liboro, HOLD Prison Coordinator)

Vielen dank, HOLD Germany, for hosting this year's CFC Handmaids of the Lord European Conference! It was indeed a sweet reunion for the HOLD leaders and members from Europe after the 3-year pandemic, who were all looking forward to this face-to-face conference! Everyone missed the food festival, the communal worship, the sessions, the activities, and most of all each other! Praise God for another HOLD EuroCon worth remembering!

The word "B.E.Y.O.N.D.", this year's Summit theme, is an acronym that will allow us to easily remember what we are being called to do within the gift that is the CFC Family Ministries:

B - BUILD stronger relationships and ties
E - ENRICH ourselves in the household and formation
Y - YEARN to grow deeper in faith
O - (be on the look out for) OPPORTUNITIES that will maximize evangelization efforts
N - NURTURE household leaders or focus on household leadership development
​D - DEVELOP missionaries in the areas

The Family Ministries are the future of Couples for Christ, and with the help of each other and the guidance of the Lord, anything can happen. God grants the grace.

Having been molded in the CFC Family Ministries, we now have young couples with growing children, and professionals serving in their respective workplaces, rooted in faith and contributing to society positively. This shows how Couples for Christ and the Family Ministries are able to contribute to nation-building and protecting God’s plan for humanity.

Beginning tomorrow, June 12, 2023, we kick off our week-long anniversary events, leading to our grand celebration on Saturday, June 17!

Let us celebrate 30 years of God’s faithfulness through the CFC Family Ministries! Let’s reminisce the past, celebrate the present and be excited for the future that God has in store for us!

As we prepare for CFC's 42nd anniversary celebration and week-long events, we would like to enjoin the entire global CFC family to pray this from today until June 17, 2023. May the grace and goodness of the Lord be upon all of us as the various committees prepare for the festivities, so that all of us in the global family of Couples for Christ may truly proclaim, "We have never seen anything like this!"

It’s more fun to serve in the CFC HOLD ICon 2023! We praise and thank God for all the selfless sisters (and brothers) who were part of the HOLD ICon service team (We may not be able to mention everyone, but you know who you are!)! We are likewise grateful for the partners and sponsors who gave away freebies during the ICon. May God’s choicest blessings be upon all of you!
