🇵🇭 Asserting Our Sovereignty: Standing Firm on the West Philippine Sea🌊
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) unites with the Filipino people and the government in upholding our sovereign rights over the West Philippine Sea. Rooted in historical treaties and reinforced by international law, our claim is irrefutable. The 1987 Philippine Constitution and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) affirm our rights and responsibilities over these waters.
We stand by our fishermen, whose livelihoods depend on these rich fishing grounds. It is our duty to protect and defend their rights against any form of foreign intrusion.
Together, let us safeguard our nation’s heritage and resources for future generations. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! 🇵🇭

"Only pirates do this!"

Today, I had the joy of receiving heartfelt thank you letters from grade 3 students, full of kind words and happiness for the service of our soldiers. Each letter was a sincere expression of gratitude that not only touched my heart but is sure to move all soldiers fortunate enough to read them.
It's moments like these that truly highlight the wonderful impact our Armed Forces of the Philippines have on our nation’s youth. It reminds us of the meaningful connections between our military and the communities we serve.
A big thank you to these amazing students for their thoughtful letters. Your appreciation means the world to us and fuels our commitment every day. 💖
Mother's Day is a celebration of strength—a strength I have come to understand through two powerful perspectives: as a daughter and as a mother.
My mother, Jocelyn, has always been a beacon of resilience. In the countless battles I've faced, whether in the fields of combat or the trials of everyday life, the thought of her unwavering spirit has kept me strong. "Being a fighter makes all the difference," she'd say. Her words echo in my heart, especially during the toughest times. Happy Mother's Day, Ma. Your strength has been my guiding star.
In contrast to the battlefields I've known, becoming a mother introduced me to a different kind of challenge—a battle for life and health during a global pandemic. On August 26, 2021, I tested positive for COVID-19. The virus brought severe symptoms and advancing pneumonia, further complicated by my pregnancy. Hospitalized for 2 months under intensive care, my mind was occupied not with my own well-being, but with the tiny heartbeat thriving within me. Amidst the stress and anxiety, I developed gestational hypertension, a constant reminder of the stakes at hand.
I witnessed the indiscriminate nature of COVID-19. It spared no one—not the robust military personnel I stood beside nor the innocent newborns.
Labor was another battlefield. Induced and in pain, my body struggled to bring my daughter into the world. After 3 days of labor, complicated by my escalating blood pressure, a cesarean section was deemed necessary. It was a harrowing but hopeful ordeal, culminating in the most profound victory—giving birth to Amari Beatrix. Amari, meaning "strong and eternally lovely," and Beatrix, "blessed traveler," are promises of what lies ahead.
Reflecting on these experiences, the parallels in the love and strength between my mother and me deepen. I see now that my mother's resilience was not just in her words but in her unconditional love—a legacy I carry forward with Amari. As I held my daughter for the first time when I gave birth to her, I felt an overwhelming connection—a continuum of love that stretches back to my own mother and extends forward through me to my child.
This Mother's Day, as I celebrate being a daughter and a mother, I am reminded of the immense power of love and the strength it bestows upon us. Here’s to the women who shape us, the battles they help us withstand, and the love that sees us through.
No soldier deserves to be called a coward. No soldier deserves to be told that he is not worthy of being a soldier just because he has made decisions for his personal life that are his own. No soldier deserves to be humiliated and shamed nationwide and on social media just because someone decided he knows the full narrative.
We encourage everyone to share this post until it reaches Mr. Raffy Tulfo. This young soldier died an honorable death in service to country, without having the chance to clear his name or the profession he chose to take.
Now that he is dead fighting to protect the country and his fellow soldiers, the least you can do is apologize to the family he left behind. By doing so, at least, we can say who is indeed the brave one.
