Learners from Cambodia, Korea, India, Indonesia, Burkina Faso, Vietnam, and the Philippines are members of this multicultural class this 3rd Cycle 2024.

This C1 (High Intermediate) - level class is being taught by Teacher John. The learners are seen here doing a quick write in class. This tasks allow them to produce ideas in writing in only 8 to 10 minutes. This creation task tests their ability to apply concept learned, vocabulary, and target grammar point all at the same time.

How can traditional art be used to celebrate one's identity and heritage?

The learners in this A1-level Speaking and Listening Class taught by Teacher Rizza this 3rd Cycle delivered a role-play presentation answering questions about museum art pieces that are made from pieces of cloth and paper.

We offer Mandarin courses this cycle! We have classes from beginner to advanced levels.

Communicating the Christian Faith (Online Class) is back on offer! This course aims to equip learners with the vocabulary and language skills in preparation for advanced courses in Philosophy, Theology, or Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

In order to address the needs for classrooms that are suitable for smaller classes (1 to 3 learners), ALC has set up three bahay kubo located in various parts of the campus to give smaller classes peace and quiet while still providing both learners and teachers comfort.

These bahay kubo are each equipped with smart television, high-speed internet, and air-conditioner.

On 6 July 2009, exactly 15 years ago, Assumption Language College (then Assumption Language Center) opened its doors wide to welcome six learners from China and three teachers to its first site at No. 17 C. Salvador Street Varsity Hills Subd. Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

15 years after and located on a bigger campus at No. 3 Cannon St. Brgy. Mariana, New Manila, Quezon City, ALC remains committed to its core values of excellence, internationalism, and integrity as it embraces a more dynamic and ever-changing language teaching landscape and community formation for its diverse and multicultural learners.

The date of the celebration of ALC's 15th Foundation Anniversary will be announced soon. We hope you can all join us.

The ten-minute break every afternoon provides learners and teachers alike respite from their intensive afternoon classes, and what better way to spend these 10 minutes than to exchange laughters and have small talks with their schoolmates, teachers, and colleagues.

This is Crossing's 14th year and second issue this year. We hope that you enjoy reading our learners' essays and short articles.

We thank everyone for making this cycle an unforgettable one. We wish our learners a good journey ahead of them.

This has been by far our biggest cycle with 129 learners coming from 26 different countries.

You are all invited to our 2nd Cycle 2024 Culminating Day Program on Friday, 21 June 2024 at 1:30pm.

Our theme for this Culminating Day is "Retracing Routes, Treading New Paths." Please be with us and witness the journey our learners took in order for them to be where they are today.

We've invited a former learner, Ms. Anna Faustina Ding from Malaysia, to be this culminating day program's guest speaker. Ms. Ding learned for two cycles at ALC in 2013.

This is Teacher Ruth's Veritas (A2)-level Reading and Writing Class. The learners are seen here discussing among themselves the pros and cons of online health apps and their advantages over consulting with a healthcare professional.

It's the 126th year of Philippine Independence! Seen here is Teacher Mike giving a 10-minute talk on this very important celebration. He was joined by learners from Mongolia, the Dominican Republic, and Senegal who also shared their experience of their respective countries' struggle for independence from foreign colonizers.

We welcomed today seven Augustinians of the Assumption brothers from Vietnam who will be spending two months in the Philippines for their English language classes and mission exposure.

This is the 6th year of the program.

Learners watched a Tagalog short film titled "Molave Street" on Friday, 7 June. The final task for this activity was for learners to demonstrate the difference between their public persona and private self by writing on masks descriptions and sentence about their "selves" that coexist and oftentimes contradict.

These are photos of Teacher Faith's class during their brief visit of Museo El Deposito and Museo ng Katipunan in San Juan City. The learners are enrolled in our Communicative Grammar Class (A2/B1 levels).

The learners had opportunities to interview the museum curator about the exhibits and the history of Katipunan and museum director of the now defunct Carriedo water system and reservoir. Both are located several minutes away from ALC.

Having online classes every day at ALC doesn't mean learners and teacher stay in front of their computer screens all the time. Sometimes, class meets in a physical space, explore the city, and get to know its people better.

Seen here are the two learners enrolled in the online English class being taught by Teacher Mae this cycle. The learners are from Myanmar and Indonesia who currently live in the other side of Manila.

Last week, the two learners and Teacher Mae visited museums and old churches in Manila. They also sampled the delicious food the city has to offer.

ALC greets our founder and school director, Fr. Bernard Holzer, on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of his priestly ordination.

This is the C1 (high intermediate)-level class that's being taught by Teacher Gemma this cycle.

This reading and writing class aims for the learners to be able to write 500-word advantage/disadvantage essay this week. The class theme is entrepreneurship.
