It gives me pleasure to announce that we have expanded the reach of our Tullahan-Tinajeros river system cleanup operations by 6.3 kms bringing our total coverage to 11.5 kms --almost half of the river's 27-km length. Our target is to remove 1.5 million cubic meters of waste and silt that would go to government-designated garbage disposal centers. Our next goal is to bring this initiative to the Pasig River and the Bulacan river systems. We are counting on the continued cooperation and support of our partner LGUs and citizens. Together, we will finish what we started.

I am excited to announce that next month we will start work to help rehabilitate Pasig River. We are teaming up with the DENR, DPWH, and other gov’t agencies to remove 50,000 tons of waste from the river every month, or 600,000 tons per year for the next five years. That's 3 million tons in all! With this, we hope to be able to restore the river's optimal depth and its natural flow. But for this to work, we will need everyone to do their part. I am confident that together we can change the world for the better.
