Good Day SBPians: An Urgent Announcement

In accordance with the recent news regarding the rising cases of "Whooping Cough" in Taguig, for the safety of our students and as preventative measure, we will be requiring ALL OUR STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF to WEAR FACE MASKS at all times within the School vicinity.

Available stocks of face mask can be requested and provided to our Students upon request from our Clinic Office.

Effective immediately and shall remain implemented until deemed necessary.

Tumataas ang bilang ng mga nagkakaroon ng Pertussis sa National Capital Region kabilang na ang Taguig.

May naitala ng 8 kumpirmadong kaso ng Pertussis sa Taguig. Lahat ng pasyente ay nagamot at nakarekober na sa sakit na ito.

Ang Pertussis, na tinatawag ding “whooping cough,” ay isang nakahahawang respiratoryong sakit na dulot ng bacterium na Bordetella. Kumakalat ito kadalasan sa pamamagitan ng droplets mula sa bibig at ilong kapag ang taong may Pertussis ay umuubo, bumabahing, o nakikipag-usap. Delikado ang sakit na ito lalo na sa mga sanggol.

Kabilang sa mga sintomas nito ang tuyong ubo na sinusundan ng mga yugto ng matinding pag-ubo, banayad na lagnat, at sipon. Sa mga sanggol, maaaring magkaroon ng ubo o paghingal, paghina ng kain at paghirap ng paghinga. Lumalabas ang mga sintomas 7-10 araw mula sa exposure sa taong may Pertussis.

Maiiwasan ang Pertussis sa pamamagitan ng pagbabakuna (Dapat makumpleto ang 3 primary doses sa loob ng isang taong gulang). Iniulat na sa Hunyo pa darating ang mga bakuna mula DOH. Gayun pa man, may mga mabisang antibiotics na nakagagamot sa sakit na ito.

Pinaaalahanan ang mga taong may sintomas ng Pertussis na mag-isolate at magsuot ng face mask upang hindi makahawa.

Handa ang Lungsod Taguig na tugunan ang paglaganap ng Pertussis. May sapat na kakayahan, gamot, at kagamitan ang ating mga health personnel, health centers, at ospital upang gamutin ang mga magkakasakit ng Pertussis.

Kung kayo o ang inyong mahal sa buhay ay nakararanas ng sintomas ng Pertussis, pumunta sa pinakamalapit na health center o tumawag sa ating hotlines para mabigyan ng agarang tulong:
