The City of Tagum ranked 3rd place in Asia and 36th worldwide in the recently concluded City Nature Challenge 2022, an international friendly competition held last April 29 to May 8, 2022.

With its 10,590 total number of observations, the city garnered a place in Asia next to Hongkong with 33,174 observations and Chiayi-Yunlin, Taiwan with 19,298 observations.

A total of 61 observers participated in the said competition and have gathered a total of 660 number of species that were seen in the selected locations which are believed to have a rich preserved wildlife in the city.

This year was the first time for Tagum City to participate in the said competition with the utmost support of the of Mayor Allan Rellon and Vice Mayor Eva Lorraine Estabillo through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) anchored on giving great importance to the city’s natural green life.
