The Student Council Executive Board-Council of Presidents (SCEB-COP) has been one of the core student-led organizations in St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. They are comprised of Ignacian Marians students who are called to be leaders amongst their peers; ready to engage in any endeavor and strive actively for the realization of the many events that our institution holds, all of which are for the sake of exemplifying the core values fostered in this school: of 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉, 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, and 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆

𝐒𝐌𝐂𝐓𝐈'𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐁-𝐂𝐨𝐏 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐦 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬.

From August 8, 2024, to August 10, 2024, this three-day, two-night congress was held after a series of onboarding events and eventually identifying the Top 25 Delegates. Delegating Leonard Paraon, the SCEB-CoP Assistant Secretary, and Jonah Mae Sumayang, the SCEB-CoP BSBA 4th Year Representative, embark on the enterprise of Youth Leadership by participating in the very first Tagum Young Leaders Congress organized by Tagum City Youth Development Office, along with other partnering Youth-based organizations.

This congress, composed of varied and meaningful talks, workshops, consultations, and team-building activities, helped the Top-25 participants develop skills of leadership in terms of their advocacies, and the actualization of it, to the holistic benefit of their communities.

In line with this, the overarching goal of the Tagum Young Leaders Congress was to supplicate these Top-25 participants to conceptualize a Project Plan Proposal that can benefit their communities and be presented to the congress' group of panelists and be part of the Top 5 Finalist.

With valiance, the two participating SCEB-CoP won awards during the event, a testament to the efforts they've put forth, whilst bearing the name of our institution and organization.

Jonah Mae Sumayang, with her Financial Literacy Project, won the Education and Research Awardee and was the 11th placer for the Project Proposal Pitching. Leonard Paraon, with his Book and Reading Festival Project Plan, won and became part of the Top-5 finalists for the Project Proposal Pitching.

Edu Macabatas, a Youth Development Officer and one of the head organizers for this congress reiterated and emphasized the message that this congress wholeheartedly wants to convey, "Tayo'y kabataang may kamalayan sa bayan. We are not just young members of society, we are the youth of our community, ready to contribute to our society."

All of those who are privileged to be part of this congress will value all the experiences, lessons, and relationships, both found and rekindled, that shall contribute to developing responsive and diligent youth leaders, empowered and ready to make a change for the betterment of our community and our city.

Please also bear in mind that we, Marians in the Tertiary Education Program, are encouraged to be a member of at least 2 organizations: one Academic Club/Organization and one Non-academic Club Organization. On July 26, the SMCTI Tertiary Education Programs gathered for a vibrant acquaintance party at the M. Ignacia Gymnasium. The event, themed "𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡, 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐲," was facilitated by SCEB-COP and aimed to foster new connections and provide a platform for students to mingle and form special bonds.

The party featured a range of activities, including bench yell presentations from each program and several ice-breaking games such as Tic-Tac-Toe, and Ball Relay. Students also had the opportunity to showcase their talents in an activity dubbed "Marian Got Talent," which served as the event's highlight.

The acquaintance party not only provided a fun-filled afternoon but also emphasized the importance of building a supportive student community. As the day came to a close, students left with new acquaintances and positive memories.

On July 16, 2024, the Student Council Executive Board- Council of Presidents (SCEB-COP) played a crucial role in the successful ex*****on of the General Student Orientation among the tertiary education students for the academic year 2024-2025 at Mother Ignacia Gym.

The event saw the participation of the entire tertiary education student body, faculty, and staff. SCEB-COP members, under the leadership of 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐄. 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨, efficiently distributed attendance stubs and maintained order throughout the orientation.

During the event, 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐁-𝐂𝐨𝐏 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐊𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐲, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, introduced this year's members of the SCEB-COP organization with enthusiasm, assuring the audience of their commitment to excellence and leadership for the upcoming school year.
