Reading Month is a celebration of literature that goes beyond mere enjoyment. It is an opportunity to inspire individuals, promote literacy, and foster a love for reading that can last a lifetime. Visayan Village Central Elementary School succesfully conducted the Reading Month Launching and Kick-off Program today, November 4, 2024. This month-long event will be celebrated in various forms.
The event started with the Kindergarten learners as they participated the Book Character Contest. Colorful and magical characters were seen as they wore their costumes and attires. Each one walked on stage, showcasing their characters and introduced themselves. How lovely it is to see such beautiful and handsome faces transform to a different person?
Mrs. Krystal Joy Consina, PTA President, read a story to the students. She asked questions after reading to test the comprehension of the students per grade level. Learners actively participated and received prizes. On the other hand, the Book Character Contest awarded five (5) finalists who received certificates and prizes. All the participating Kinder learners also received a Certificate of Participation and prizes.
We would like to thank Mrs. Flor C. Gementiza, School Reading Coordinator, for the efforts and making the launching and kick-off program a success. Thank you also to the support, Dr. Joy Jade E. Relos, School Principal IV, and Mrs. Evelyn P. Dayo, Head Teacher V. Thank you to all the teachers, parents and students. Reading Month aims to bridge the gap and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience the joys of reading.
So, let us celebrate Reading Month by picking up a book, sharing stories, and encouraging others to join in the adventure of reading!

Scouting is a transformative experience that shapes young individuals into responsible, resourceful, and resilient adults. The adventures of scouts are filled with challenges, camaraderie, and invaluable life lessons that extend far beyond the great outdoors.
Visayan Village Central Elementary School Boy Scouts had its Adventure Scout Skills Training held at Botanical Park, San Agustin, Tagum City. Teams were created with an Adult Leader accompanying them in every module.
We have seen how all of you work together to set up camp, cook meals, and complete challenges. This collaborative spirit teaches essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Scouts learn to rely on one another, fostering friendships that can last a lifetime.
The skills and values instilled during these adventures not only prepare them for future endeavors but also inspire them to make a positive impact in their communities. In essence, scouting is a journey of discovery that lasts a lifetime, filled with memories and lessons that shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Job well done, Scouts!

VVCES joins the Global Handwashing Day 2024! Handwashing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to maintain health and prevent illness, making it an easy habit to adopt.
Regular handwashing helps prevent the spread of diseases, including respiratory infections and gastrointestinal illnesses, by removing harmful germs from your hands.
Frequent handwashing minimizes the chances of transferring germs from surfaces to your mouth, nose, or eyes, which can lead to infections.
So, make sure to wash your hands regularly, especially before eating and after using the bathroom!
