On June 8, 2024, the Happy Island of Virac, Catanduanes, witnessed a historic event with the first ever public installation of elected and appointed officers and the lodge institution of Happy Island Lodge No. 65 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). This milestone event was graced by the presence of the Most Honorable Past Grand Master (MHPGM) Cesar Margate, accompanied by the Grand Treasurer Hon. David Benigno and Grand Secretary Hon. Maja Benigno of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines. Brethren from nearby lodges also visited the island to take part of the event namely Tabaco Odd Fellows Lodge No. 60.

The day began with the arrival of MHPGM Cesar Margate at Virac Airport, where he received a warm welcome from Noble Grand Angelo de Leon, Vice Grand Shander Matienzo, and the brethren of Happy Island Lodge No. 65. The welcoming party also included representatives from the Department of Tourism, who added to the festive atmosphere.

The first stop of the day's activities was the unveiling of the Odd Fellows Markers. These markers, strategically placed near the airport site and the boundary of Virac and Bato, symbolize the Odd Fellows' presence and commitment to the community. The unveiling ceremony marked an important milestone in the lodge's history and its dedication to serving the community.

Following the unveiling, the group proceeded to the ALFONSO MA. FUSCO CHILDREN's HOME, where they visited the children residing there. The Odd Fellows, true to one of their guiding commands of visiting the orphans, shared a meal with the children and the Sisters in charge. This act of kindness and camaraderie highlighted the core values of the Odd Fellowship, emphasizing compassion, charity, and community service.

The evening was marked by the historical installation of officers and the institution of Happy Island Lodge No. 65. The event was made even more special by the Municipal Mayor Samuel Laynes who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. Notably, the mayor is also a member of the lodge, underscoring the strong ties between the lodge and the local community.

The installation and induction ceremonies were presided over by MHPGM Margate, alongside the Honorable Arjan Antig, District Deputy Grand Master for the Bicol-Visayas District. The ceremonies were conducted with solemnity and dignity, reflecting the deep traditions and principles of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

This historic event marks a new chapter for Happy Island Lodge No. 65, as it embarks on its mission to foster friendship, love, and truth within the community. The lodge is poised to make significant contributions to the welfare and development of Virac, Catanduanes, upholding the noble ideals of Odd Fellowship.

On August 19, 2023, the Happy Island Lodge U.D. of Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) held a set of its "Awareness Campaign on the Dangers of the Internet to Women and Children" information drive at Barangay Dugui Wala, Barangay Dugui San Isidro, and Barangay Dugui Too Virac, Catandauanes.

The activity was spearheaded by The Philippine Institute of Cyber Security Professionals (PICSPro) under the PICSPro CARES Program together with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows – Happy Island Lodge U.D. (IOOF – HILUD), the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Virac (MDRRMO – Virac), Local Government Unit of Virac (LGU – Virac), Provincial Government Unit of Catanduanes (PLGU – Catanduanes) and the Tres Cadenas Eagles Club (TCEC) of The Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippine Eagles).
