Donating blood is one of the greatest ways to help humankind. By doing so, we save someone’s precious life, and that is a blessing in itself. There are people who hesitate to donate blood if they aren’t given monetary returns or because of the various myths surrounding it.

Blood donation is healthy for our body because it makes our blood less viscose which will help in combating cardiovascular and other diseases. 38% of the population all over the world is capable of donating blood; however, less than 10% do so. There are many people who die because of shortage of blood while undergoing treatment.
Every year on the of Blood Donor Day is celebrated to encourage blood donation and appreciate or thank the blood donors all over the world.

Everyone is more anxious and worried during the pandemic. Younger children may not have the words to describe their feelings. They're more likely to act out their stress, anxiety or fear through their behaviour (which can, in turn, upset parents, particularly if they are already stressed).
Some ways you can help your children manage their emotions and behaviour:
• Recognize your child's feelings. Calmly say, for example, “I can see that you are upset because you can't have your friends over."
• Redirect bad behaviour. Sometimes children misbehave because they are bored or don't know any better. Find something else for them to do.
• Creative play. Suggest your children draw pictures of ways your family is staying safe. Make a collage and hang it up to remind everyone. Or, build an indoor fort or castle to keep the germs at bay, bringing in favourite stuffed animals or toys.
• Direct your attention. Attention--to reinforce good behaviours and discourage others--is a powerful tool. Notice good behaviour and point it out, praising success and good tries. Explaining clear expectations, can help.
• Know when not to respond. As long as your child isn't doing something dangerous and gets attention for good behaviour, ignoring bad behaviour can be an effective way of stopping it.
• Offer extra hugs and say “I love you" more often.

PUPIL APPLICATIONS: LIAS

Dear Parents

At present it is illegal for staff to work from school or to physically accept applications.

We receive over 1000 applications each year and every document requested is required to complete the process. Unfortunately, unless documents are physically checked at receipt, a significant number are incomplete and therefore not valid.
We would like to assure you that as soon as our Administrative staff may legally return to work, we will notify you on our page and website that we are open for applications. Please keep an eye on these sites from MONDAY next week.

Please be assured that we will be open for applications and fee collection for at least 12 days once we resume our duties at school and every single application that comes in during this 12 days period will be considered.

When you come in to drop your applications, we will not be able to discuss each application with you, we will merely be checking that they contain all relevant information. (You are welcome to add a covering letter if necessary.) Please adhere to strict social distancing in the school parking lot, campus and foyer area. You will not be allowed onto the premises without a mask covering your nose and mouth. Please move quickly and let us complete this process as efficiently as possible.
I would like to repeat that there is no need to worry about not having been able to deliver your applications, as we have extended the due date to at least 22 May 2020. We will notify you on our page if there is a further extension.

We suggests creating a dedicated learning area for remote students, such as a desk in their room or a table in the living room or kitchen. It’s all about creating a routine that mimics a typical school day. That includes designated periods of study and ample breaks for students to mentally recharge. We also encourages parents to establish open lines of communication with teachers, to help their kids stay on track. Our final advice to virtual learners? “Be supportive and have students read every day!”
