Polo- “the game of kings and the king of games” is very popular in Gilgit Baltistan for centuries.
The word “Polo” meaning a “wooden ball”, comes from the Balti language.
The game of Polo which is played in GB in its most ancient form; some call it the purest form, by the mountainous people of GB.
Polo is the most favorite game in Gilgit-Baltistan and almost all valleys around must have at least one polo ground, where local people can be seen playing polo.

گنگچھے : گنگچھے کے عوام کا حقیقی مسیحا ' سرجن ڈاکٹر مستنصر حسین نے محکمہ صحت گلگت بلتستان کی جانب سے مسلسل ذیادتیوں اور ناانصافیوں سے تنگ آ کر ڈسٹرکٹ ہسپتال خپلو میں بطور سرجن کام کرنے سے معذرت کر لی۔۔۔۔
ڈاکٹر مستنصر حسین پچھلے کئی سالوں سے بطور سرجن ڈی ایچ کیو خپلو میں اپنی خدمات سرانجام دے رہے تھے اور سینکڑوں مریضوں کی آپریشن کر چکے ہیں مگر ان کو ابھی تک میڈیکل آفیسر کی تنخواہ دے رہے ہیں۔۔ اور حالیہ محکمہ صحت گلگت بلتستان نے سپیشیلسٹ ڈاکٹروں کی تعئناتی کے دوران ضلع گنگچھے کے سرجن پوسٹ پر ڈاکٹر مستنصر نے ٹیسٹ انٹرویو بھی دیا تھا مگر محکمہ صحت گلگت بلتستان ایک ایسے ڈاکٹر کو تعئنات کیا جو بھرتی ہونے کے ساتھ ہی گنگچھے آنے سے معذرت کی ۔۔۔

گلگت بلتستان کے نوجوان عدالتوں میں جانے کی روایت ختم کر کے ٹرینینڈ بننے اور اہلیت حاصل کرنے میں جدوجہد کرے ۔پورا جی بی بے روز گار پٹوار ٹرینڈ امیدواروں سے بھرا ھوا ھے مگر باخبر جی بی سے تعلق رکھنے والے مخصوص گروپ پر مشتمل نوجوانوں کو خبر تک نہیں کہ ایک پٹواری کیلئے پٹوار کورس لازم ھے جو جی بی حکومت اپنی نگرانی میں ٹرینینگ دے کر باقاعدہ سرٹفکیٹ ایشو کرتی ھے ۔نوجوانوں سے گزارش ھے عدالتوں میں جانے کی روایت ختم کر کے اہلیت پیدا کرو اور جس چیز کا اہل نہیں ھو اس کیلئے کوشیش مت کرو جو کہ گناہ ھے ۔

Mayfang - The festival of fire has been going on since ancient times in Baltistan region of Pakistan which is celebrated by the people here on the night of December 21 every year as the beginning of new year and for peace and prosperity.
During this festival children, young and old dance and sing traditional songs with wooden lamps in their hands.
This festival was obsolete but now it is flourishing again.
PS: I have shot this video in Khaplu village and the district administration is to be commended for organizing such kinda program.

The Chaqchan Mosque is a mosque in the city of Khaplu, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. Dating from 1370, the mosque is one of the oldest in the region, and dates from the time when the area's populace converted en masse from Buddhism to Islam.

Ehli Broq Khaplu
About 50 minutes from Khaplu town is this beautiful pasture called Ehli Broq in the local language.
In the summer, people camp here to look after the fields and pastures, including cattle. The mud houses and streets here take us to Baltistan centuries ago.

On the way to Khaplu, I met these wonderful PTI supporters in Kunais Valley. These kids really took away the fatigue of our entire trip in just half an hour. We spent some time with them, who were happy finding small pleasures of life. We can also learn from them that instead of being involved in the world all time, look for small pleasures of life that can give us love peace and almost everything.
