👉 On the 16th March, the Train4Health Coordinator participated in the EPSA - European Pharmaceutical Students' Association's 12th Annual Reception, in Brussels.
🎯 The event was entitled "Transforming Health Education, a European Strategy". Mara joined a round table on Future-proofing , where she shared learnings from the Train4Health project.

📒Dr Declan Kennedy from University College Cork carries out research in the area of conceptual difficulties in learning science, the use of ICT in science teaching, inquiry-based science education, and the role of laboratory practical work in science education. He carries out this research mainly through funded research projects, and he has been very successful in obtaining research funding at the local, national, and international levels.
📍He is currently involved in an FP7 project called PROFILES which is funded by the European Commission. The PROFILES project consists of a consortium of 21 partner institutions from 19 different countries carrying out research in the area of Inquiry-Based Science Education.
➡ His first research paper was published in 1979, and over the past 35 years, he has consistently published in the science and science education fields. His publications range over five main areas: scientific publications, science education publications, education publications, curriculum publications (textbooks), and commissioned reports. To date, he has been invited to give lectures and workshops in over 30 countries -

📍 We are getting close to the big day, so we thought we would share the name of our next special guest, Lilian Azzopardi from the University of Malta!
👉 Lilian is a Professor of Pharmacy and currently the Head of the Department of Pharmacy at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Malta. She has extensive academic experience locally and at an international level. She has spearheaded innovative introductions in pharmacy education that are directed to meet the needs of the health services and the pharmaceutical industry. She has been leading the innovative post-graduate international doctorate in pharmacy offered by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Malta in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago. Lilian is well recognised in the international field for her ability to ingrain in the education process ways on how to combine the fundamental sciences with the practice areas to meet the needs of stakeholders. She developed experiential learning activities within different practice settings at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
📒 She has published several papers and books mainly related to quality systems, pharmacist interventions in patient care focusing on collaborative practices, and pharmacy education. She has published over 100 papers and scientific communications and a number of internationally-renowned textbooks. Lilian has been recognised through research awards by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and the ESCP - European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP). She served as an ad-interim Director and a member of the Publications Committee of the ESCP and was co-chair of the working group of the International Pharmaceutical Federation Nanjing Statements on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education launched in 2016. At present, she is the President of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy.

💡 Cécile Dury is a nurse with a Master’s degree in Public Health from the UCLouvain – Université catholique de Louvain in French-speaking Belgium. She holds the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude for Higher Education and has completed doctoral training at the European Academy of Nursing Science.
✍ She has practised professionally in intensive care units as well as medical and technical departments and has supervised clinical training students in pulmonology, orthopaedics, emergency and resuscitation units. She became a teacher in 1997. She has held the positions of coordinator of the Intensive Care and Emergency Medical Aid specialization, as well as educational coordinator for the nursing and midwifery sections.
👉 Currently, she is Director of the health sector at the Haute École de Namur-Liège-Luxembourg. Her research areas focus on developing training programs and nursing teachers’ skills, analyzing professional practices, and supporting teams towards change.
