🥳Here are some highlights of the recent Spe Tech Days conference, held from May 15-17. This remarkable event organised by SPE Romanian section in collaboration with SPE University of Bucharest Student Chapter, SPE Petroluem-Gas University of Ploiesti Stundent Chapter and UAIC Iasi SPE Student Chapter, brought together leading minds for three days of insightful discussions, groundbreaking research presentations, and networking opportunities.

👏Our keynote speakers, distinguished experts from around the globe, shared their invaluable knowledge and pioneering research. The interactive workshops and panel discussions provided a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering collaboration.

Last week's field trip to Filipești coal quarry was about fossils, sedimentology, and lignite exploitation and processing.

For the third year, we're bringing back EIVA NaviSuite Nardoa, a training prepared for you to familiarise with software and tools for underwater O&G pipeline inspection and monitoring.

EIVA NaviSuite is a package of software products built for subsea surveys and operations. Our trainers are Ioana Popescu who has been working with EIVA for the past 2 years after finishing this training and Vlad Lazăr, Survey and Support Engineer with over 10 years of experience in hydrographic survey.

🔥Coming back with a new learning opportunity for you, SPE & ASGG is starting a new workshop series, focused on Basin Modelling.

🌎 Our trainer, Mr. Radu Olaru, will guide us through his fields of expertise: petroleum systems, petrology, geochemistry and seismic interpretation.

👩‍💻 We will be working in PetroMod, a software used for building 1D, 2D and 3D basin models, models that will be used to interpret, simulate and analyse the geological history of the sedimentary basin.

🕐 The workshop will begin on 7th of December 2023, 18:00, and will continue on 13th, 14th of December, then 3 more meetings in January. Each session's duration will be around 3 hours. The sessions will take place in the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, 2nd floor, room Info 2 ("Sala Master şi Doctorat")

❄️Sezonul sărbătorilor bate la ușă, iar odată cu el vine și inițiativa deosebită din partea studenților Facultății de Geologie și Geofizică, reprezentați de ASGG & SPE, SEG și AAPG, care și-au propus să facă o schimbare în bine.

🎁În mod similar cu anii anteriori, misiunea noastră este să ne mobilizăm pentru o campanie de donații menită să aducă bucurie liceenilor nevoiași din Buftea. Strângerea donațiilor se va realiza la facultate (Clădirea Nicolae Bălcescu nr.1), astfel vă rugăm să ne contactați pentru oferirea acestora până luni, 18 decembrie.

🎀Acceptăm cu brațele deschise orice considerați că ar fi util, de la haine, alimente neperisabile, produse de igienă personală, până la rechizite, electrocasnice de primă necesitate etc.

💌Donațiile pot fi adunate inclusiv la Casa Universitarilor în data de 18 decembrie, unde vă invităm cu drag să veniți la evenimentul nostru dedicat acestei campanii, Petrecerea de Crăciun, începând cu ora 18:00. Participarea la eveniment se realizează sub forma unei contribuții monetare de minim 25 de lei.

⛰️ In partnership with our friends at Asociația Studenților Geologi și Geofizicieni - ASGG, last week, we have completed our first field trip for this school year.

🌳 Dedicated, but not limited to our first year students, this opportunity has equipped them with a large perspective over the geological sciences and its vast domains of activity.

✨️ The filed trip took course between 20-23 of October, in the areas of Rucăr-Bran pass, Argeş County, and Racoş, Braşov County. We therefore explored a variety of lithologies, from the metamorphic fundament, to the sedimentary coverings and igneous rocks from neogene volcanism.

🍀 Our professor coordinators were Dr. habil. ing. Iuliana Lazăr and Dr. ing. Izabela Mariş. They provided insights about the places geology, presenting their own scientific studies focused on the respective areas.

🎁 Those 4 days offered our participants an unforgettable experience, in the form of collected samples, knowledge, friendship and passion for geosciences.

⚒️ We thank our sponsors at the Cultural-Sportive Complex "Tei", our attending professors, and mostly our participants for the support!

🤠 First workshop of this autumn was a success. We hope the participants had just as much fun as we did while learning about oil&gas fields and hydrocarbons extraction.

🥳 On the 16th of September, SPE UniBuc Student Chapter had the honour of being present in The Netherlands, at SPE Europe Regional Section Officers Meeting (RSOM) 2023.

👔 Through this, we keep our connections strong with other european Sections and Student Chapters in an effort to educate and bring new opportunities to our students and young professionals in the Energy Industry.

🏆 We're also thankful for formally receiving the Student Chapter Excellence Award. To us, this award means that our numerous activities and organised events are under the recognition of worldwide experts in the field.

📣 Are you ready for a new challange? The Europe Energy GeoHackaton will soon start again!

💥 Six SPE Sections in Europe and two Technical Sections have joined forces to organise this 3rd edition of the SPE Europe Energy GEOHackathon.

📈 Starting from 2nd of October, for 4 weeks, participants will have the chance to attend bootcamp sessions on data science and geothermal energy, coordinated by scientists and industry experts, in order to get ready for the Hackaton. Then, they will team up to complete the given tasks, and solve the problems.
