In honor of the 225th anniversary of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Evgeniy of Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, poetry readings by the grandiose lyricist took place near the Church of all Saints on June 6.

📖 Victor Dobronravov, Honored Artist of Russia and actor who played the role of Pushkin's Evgeniy Onegin in the recent eponymous film, opened the readings.

🏛 Sergey Tushin, UrFU Vice-Rector for International Relations, read a poem "Two things, divine to mortal end...". He also gave a welcoming speech before the performance of Sylvester Simwanza, our student from Zambia🇿🇲, who performed the poem "You and Me".

🌸The Ural Federal University held the Spring Ball. Over 250 people came to celebrate! This year's event had a flower theme. The ladies' dresses resembled different buds, and they braided floral wreaths in their hair. The dancers performed 10 dances: five waltzes, a polka, a Scottish dance, a French dance, and others. It was a fantastic event!

🌹The audience was treated to a series of incredible performances between dances by the UrFU creative teams. After the ball, everyone was treated to a delicious spread of gingerbread and pie.

📖How rare are books in your library? UrFU has some pretty rare items!
🇨🇳Students from China studying at SCO University had the incredible opportunity to visit the Section of Rare Books as part of the course “Russian Civilization and its Values.” They were treated to a fascinating guided tour by Andrey Vorobyev, who regaled them with tales of the history of the Ural University and its library, based on the remarkable collections of the Ural industrialists Demidovs and the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum.

📚The students were thrilled to discover that visiting the library helped them learn more about the region, the university, and Russian history. They demonstrated how Russians value knowledge and know how to keep books in the best possible condition.

🇨🇳🇷🇺Chinese students met deputies of the National People's Congress of PRC
A delegation of parliamentarians from the Celestial Empire visited the main UrFU building and the new campus in the Novokoltsovsky district of Ekaterinburg on May 26. The delegation included Du Huiliang, Mayor of Ordos in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, head of the delegation, and Yu Miaojie, Rector of Liaoning University.

🏛 They discussed cooperation between scientific and educational centers with Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU. The Chinese colleagues' proposals include 2+2 programs, expansion of academic mobility opportunities, and even the creation of a joint research center in the field of economics and social sciences.

✍️Currently 1555 students from China study at UrFU, the university has 50 agreements and 15 joint educational programs with Chinese universities, and two Russian-Chinese (Ural) institutes have been launched.

As part of a fantastic trip organized by the Center for International Student Mobility and Recruitment, students from the Ural Federal University had the incredible opportunity to visit Kazan.

There, UrFU students had the chance to meet with international students studying at Kazan Federal University.

🏛 During the meeting, Mohamed Mohamed Abdou Abouelhamd and Khalil Abdelrahman Mohamed Abdelwahab Mohamed shared their passion for the Ural Federal University, presented brochures, and invited their fellow countrymen to study for Master's degree programs at Ural Federal University.

Three days to learn about UrFU and Ekaterinburg 🇷🇺
The students from Cameroon, Indonesia, and Turkey had an incredible opportunity to learn about the Ural Federal University from May 14 to 17. For three days, the UrFU International Office showed them the facilities and a museum of the university, told them about Master's degree programs, and even organized a tour around Ekaterinburg. It was a fantastic experience for them!

🏛 They also had the incredible opportunity to meet with Sergey Tushin, the Vice-Rector for International Relations.

✨Currently, students are finishing their studies in Nizhniy Novgorod, Moscow, and Tambov, and they are eager to continue their education in Ekaterinburg! We can't wait to welcome them to the university!

🌳🏞 Active weekend with UrFU
This year May Walk gathered more than 13,000 people eager to actively spend their Sunday. Participants enjoyed picturesque views and experienced vivid and unforgettable emotions.

International students from Ghana 🇬🇭, Croatia 🇭🇷, Ethiopia🇪🇹, Spain🇪🇸, Peru🇵🇪 and Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 weren't an exception. They completed the route around the lake Shartash.
"It is a very fascinating sports event! Yes, it was a bit hard but we made it. I express gratitude to UrFU for organizing such an event!" expressed his emotions Richard Asase, a student from Ghana.

🥨☕️ Organizers treated participants to tea and gingerbread. It was also possible to plant a tree or pass "Ready for Labor and Defense" sports standards. At the end, people who finished chosen distance received a badge.

🖼🎨 Museum Night 2024
UrFU international students from Spain , India , Nigeria , Kazakhstan and Peru received an opportunity to participate in the Museum Night on May 18. They visited exhibitions in the "Russia is my history" multimedia park, Yeltsin center and Hermitage-Ural center.

"The excursion was immersive and extensive! All time periods [were] shown, all stories [were] explained, in visuals and writing. Finally, I can go on such events every day!" shared his emotions Feyvor Agva, UrFU student from Nigeria.

100 participants of the first diplomatic ball danced in the Ural Federal University! 💃🕺

The event, organized by the Department of International Relations, was attended by representatives of five diplomatic missions working in Ekaterinburg - Azerbaijan, Vietnam, China, Italy, and Kyrgyzstan.

The UrFU Preparatory Department celebrated its 10th anniversary! 🇷🇺

In celebration of the occasion, a spectacular concert was held, and honorary diplomas and letters of recognition were awarded to the faculty and staff. The creative teams of UrFU and the teachers and students wowed the guests with their brilliant performances!

💫The much-loved department was showered with congratulations from current students and graduates of previous years, who recorded video messages filled with warm wishes. The new campus in the Novokoltsovsky distict was buzzing with 350 enthusiastic preparatory students, faculties, and staff.

🎆🕊UrFU celebrates Great Victory Day!
Today students and staff of Ural Federal University like the whole Russia participate in the events commemorating the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.

The university celebrations take place in front of the main UrFU building and include a spectacular parade of students of the Training Military Center, a concert and a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument in memory of students and staff fought for in the war.

In addition, everyone can taste soldier's porridge (buckwheat with stew) from the field kitchen!

We are proud of the heroism of the Soviet people who hold out and win and honor their feats for liberation of Europe from fascism.

🦷✨️ Ural scientists will help to keep a brilliant smile

Scientists from the Ural Federal University and the Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry of the UB RAS created zirconium dioxide powder for crowns and implants.

🔬The scientists are creating a joint center for ceramic materials due to the lack of imported materials. They want to establish the production of domestic materials for aircraft construction, turbine construction, and medicine as soon as possible.

❗The created material is not inferior to Japanese, Swiss, and German analogs in terms of strength and quality; however, the price has to be established yet.

🇳🇦🇷🇺Ambassador of Namibia visited UrFU
The meeting between Kashuupulwa Clemens Handuukeme, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Namibia to the Russian Federation, and Victor Koksharov, UrFU Rector, and Evgenia Saburova, Head of the International Marketing Office, was held on April 24.

✍️ The parties discussed the prospects of educational and scientific cooperation development. Moreover, Mr. Ambassador noted that UrFU is a university in demand for African students. And one of the goals is to attract Namibian students and expand academic mobility programs (first of all, online lectures of UrFU professors).

"First of all, we are interested in educational programs connected to mining, processing, engineering, communications, and technology. And, of course, we would like to use the experience of UrFU in the field of implementing the advanced developments of scientists in real production," emphasized the Ambassador.

🏛 The President of the Association of International Students met with the chairmen of the UrFU Foreign Student Associations

The meeting between the chairmen of the UrFU Foreign Student Associations and Issa Shaabo, President of the Association of International Students (AIS), took place in UrFU on April 23.

📝 At the meeting, the chairmen got acquainted with the work of the AIS, learned about its goals and objectives, and asked questions to the AIS President and the representatives of the UrFU International Office.

💼 ⚽️ The students were mainly interested in employment opportunities for foreign students after graduation and the development of sports projects and events. They received good feedback and exchanged contacts with the AIS President for further implementation of projects.

🇨🇺🤝🇷🇺UrFU strengthens cooperation with Cuba

Julio Antonio Garmendía Peña, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Russia, and Gustavo Jose Cobreiro Suarez, Counselor for Education and Science, met with the UrFU Rector and university representatives on April 23.

📝 The parties talked about establishing cooperation between UrFU and Cuban HEI. The joint training of highly qualified personnel and collaborative work within the framework of scientific journals included in the world's leading citation indices are promising forms of cooperation.
"I want as many students as possible to take advantage of the unique conditions for higher education that the Russian government is creating today and that are offered by UrFU, one of the leading universities in the Urals. We have great prospects for development of our relations," highlighted Mr. Ambassador.

The first Indo-Russian Education Summit concluded in New Delhi with the participation of about 50 Russian universities! 🇮🇳
School and university students learned about opportunities for higher education in Russia, conditions for enrollment, and further employment. Local young people show great interest in medicine, engineering, aviation, management, the aerospace industry, nuclear science, and other fields.

🏛 The representative of the Ural Federal University was Natalia Kovaleva, Academic mobility coordinator. She talked about the programs of the university, and its infrastructure and answered the questions of the applicants about admission.

🇲🇳🇷🇺 Eight UrFU students from Mongolia received additional scholarships provided by the Mongolia Endowment Fund.

Tseveeny Magsar, a famous UrFU graduate, and president of the Mongolian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, came to the university to hand over the certificates.

🏛 Sergey Tushin, Vice-Rector for International Relations at UrFU, thanked Tseveeny Magsar for his visit to the university and noted that the Mongolian community is actively involved in Ekaterinburg and represents its country, culture, and language with dignity.

Karin Kneissl visited UrFU! 🇦🇹
On April 15-16, former Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and current head of the Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues (GORKI) research center at St. Petersburg State University met with rector Victor Koksharov and UrFU students.

Karin Kneissl held seminars on the history of the oil market, the geopolitics of oil, and the evolution of the concept of energy security, including Russia's relations with North Africa and West Asia in the oil market. The seminar sessions also included the participation of Nikita Lomagin, a Russian historian, economist, and international relations expert.

There was also a practical seminar for UrFU students and young specialists with a business game in the format of the OPEC+ Ministerial Meeting. The participants discussed the prospects for the development of the global energy and oil and gas sector, based on current geopolitical situations in different regions of the world.

UrFU representatives met with Preparatory Department students at the Future with UrFU event! 🌍
The event was held in a new conference hall on the Novokoltsovsky campus, and eleven institutes presented undergraduate and postgraduate programs! The foreign students asked engaging questions about their studies and showed great interest in the speakers' presentations!

To ensure easy comprehension, the information on the admission process was translated into Chinese, Arabic, and English! More than 250 people attended the event.

⛷️ UrFU international students from BRICS countries participated in the XI Ugra Ski Marathon held on April 6-7!

🎿For a whole month, the students passionately practiced and learned how to cross-country ski! They even skied an impressive distance of five kilometers and were awarded participant's medals! They also had the incredible opportunity to meet and speak personally with the legendary Russian Olympic champion Yevgeny Dementyev! He shared his inspiring athletic journey with them, motivating them to strive for success!

UrFU student visited Kamchatka within the regional program of the World Youth Festival! 🇮🇶
Mohammed Ihsan Ameen Alnaqeeb from Iraq, a student of the Ural Federal University in the field of Organization of Work with Youth, visited 36 regions of Russia, including the Kamchatka region. As a member of a foreign delegation he visited the peninsula for the second time. The most outstanding attraction that Mohammed visited in Kamchatka is the volcano. 🌋

Chinese students learn about UrFU 🇨🇳
The exhibition was attended by 18 Russian educational organizations and passed through the cities of Beijing, Xinyang, Hebi, Xi'an, and Yangling from March 20 to March 25.

Over 8 days, the exhibition was visited by more than 5000 Chinese students, who are potential applicants, as well as over 180 Chinese educational organizations, including schools, colleges, and universities, and more than 40 representatives of recruiting agencies!

Natalia Kovaleva, the representative of Ural Federal University, also met with representatives of the Russian House in Beijing – Tatiana Urzhumtseva (Director) and Alexander Gurtov (the Executive Director).
