The children had a wonderful time celebrating Teachers' Day with a variety of fun activities.

They enjoyed games like "Guess the Baby Picture," where they tried to match baby photos to their teachers, adding a delightful touch of nostalgia.

The celebration also featured a lively "Teacher's Catwalk," where the teachers showcased their playful side, much to the children's excitement. The day was capped off with heartfelt award presentations to recognise the good work and efforts of our teachers and support staff.

Happy Teachers’ Day to our team of dedicated teachers! Thank you to all parents for your kind thoughts and gestures through your lovely cards, refreshments and gifts!

The children enthusiastically celebrated Racial Harmony Day, engaging in various activities that highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusion. They wore traditional outfits representing different cultures, participated in cultural performances, and enjoyed tasting food such as kueh lapis.

The day was filled with educational activities and discussions that fostered mutual respect and understanding among the children, creating a vibrant and harmonious atmosphere.

For this week’s phonics lesson, the children focused on Letter 'n', its sound, Letterland Character Noisy Nick and the action trick.

The children identified words such as ‘nest’, ‘nine’ and ‘nail’ from the Picture Code Card.

They were also guided on making their own nest craft, by crumpling and twisting brown paper into a circle and pasting it on a plate. They coloured the Letter 'n' and pasted the letter on their nest.

It was a fun and enriching activity for the children!

During physical activity, the children did plyometric jumping to work on improving their coordination skills. As they jump and land, children develop better balance, agility, and overall motor coordination.

Sunflower Childcare Group has partnered with Health Promotion Board (HPB) to organise a Parental Workshop.

During Father’s Day Celebration, the children celebrated Father’s Day with a superhero theme. Besides dressing up in superhero and fanciful costumes, they danced to songs and played games related to fathers. It was a great opportunity for children to appreciate what their fathers have been doing for them. 😊

A trip to the National Gallery Singapore during the June holidays provided an enriching experience for the children. They dived deeper into the world of art and thoroughly enjoyed a guided tour that highlighted the significance of family via a portrait by local artist Georgette Chan.

The children also enjoyed visiting other exhibits such as the painting room, magic forest, etc.

World Water Day Activities by PUB
Children learnt the importance of water and reinforce their water conservation habits through water rationing exercise, creating water saving habits posters, playing games and parent-child activity to create postcards. Children proudly advocate to conserve water through distributing water saving brochure to inspire the public to join us to save water so that we can have continuous water supply. “Save Water, Every Drop Counts”.

T1 Cookery Lesson - Pineapple Tart
Children made a uniquely different pineapple tart by using canned pineapple instead of pineapple jam. Children followed the step-by-step procedures to pour, stir and whisk all the ingredients together till it formed into a dough. Using their fine motor skills, they manipulated the dough to form a ball and topped it with canned pineapple. Children identify the healthier choice ingredients and baking as a healthier cooking method. The children enjoyed savouring their pineapple tarts. We are pleased to provide the recipe where parents can made together with your child at home.

KidsSTOP @ Science Centre
The learning journey extended the children’s learning. The K2 children practised problem solving and positive social interaction skills as they role played as chemist and builder. The K1 children had a rich exploration using their five senses exploring plants in the garden. The N2 attended the “My Wonderful Body” workshop to extend their learning to include internal body organs. . The children were actively participating and interacting with the workshop facilitators. They also had exploratory play at the various exhibits in KidsSTOP.

Chinese New Year Celebration
The festive spirit was in the air as many children came dressed in Chinese ethnic costumes. Children learnt of the various Chinese New Year traditions and were introduced to the year of dragon. The children proudly performed their Chinese New Year dance and wishing all parents with their Chinese New Year blessing via recorded video. The children’s active participation and enthusiasm demonstrated their appreciation of cultural diversity.

EcoStar Program – Gardening
To nurtured children’s green habits towards building a more sustainable Singapore and their nature smart intelligence, children had a hands-on planting session. Children planted edible vegetables and flowering plants. Children will be involved to care for the plants and observe the plants’ growth.

K2 Farewell Party
It was a very touching and memorable moment as the K2 children presented their farewell speeches. They had a wonderful feasting time with parents adding on extra snacks for them. They ate, played games, and watched movie together. They created memories with their gift exchange and collecting autographs. This was their last party together as a class which will serve as precious memories for all. Let’s us bid them goodbye and wished them all the best in their future learning journey.

Christmas Celebration
Children had a magical “Elf themed” Christmas celebration. They learnt elves were dwarf-like creatures with pointed ears and with magical and supernatural power. Many children came dressed in “Elves theme” costume and accessories. Children were in a celebratory mood playing games, singing and dancing to Christmas theme songs. They had a joyful gift exchange session with their peers.

NLB Mini Molly Bus Visit (N1 - K2 Class)
The mini-Molly bus visit in Dec was timely as it allowed children to enjoy reading during this festive holiday. The N1 children also joined in this activity as an orientation to prepare them for N2 level. Children listened to story told by the teachers and many of them also borrowed their own books to read at home with their parents.

Teacher’s Day Celebration
The celebration was coloured with laughter and appreciation. It was great that children learnt to express their appreciation and respect to their teachers. Teachers and children participated in story time, games and art activity to relax and have fun. Ms Pat affirmed how teachers have coloured the children’s world with knowledge, love, happiness, sunshine, joy, kindness and together as a team with rainbow experiences. Many thanks to all the parents for making our Teacher’s Day so special.
