We are Exiled from Eden but God through his strong arm, the Servant Jesus, is bringing us home to Eden-like Zion in a new Exodus!

So, be comforted! Turn your back on Babylon and live for Zion!

God’s life changing offer of salvation is built on his sure love for his people. Despite his people's desire to trust in themselves, only God can rescue them out of exile, through the work of his Servant.

How can you take God’s offer? Simply be a part of this relationship with God. Seek the Lord and return to Him.

We can trust and return to God because his ways are higher than our ways. The word of the Lord will stand forever, bringing about sure salvation for his people. We can hope in the glorious heritage that awaits us when we’re finally home.

We loved seeing the smiles and conversations happening across ages at the different Family Days. Thank God for our BA church community that encourages and cares for one another!

Through the work of the Servant, the barren woman is made fruitful. God's people are given new spiritual life, becoming part of the multinational homecoming back to God.

Through the work of the Servant, the cast-off, ashamed wife is gathered back and loved forever. Their marriage is renewed and restored.

Through the work of the Servant, the battered city is securely rebuilt. God's relationship with his people is rock solid and secure.

These joyous scenes of the day after give us reasons to sing, rejoice and fear not! Remember that you are living in the day after. Remember that this day after has not reached its brightest point yet and we continue to wait for Jesus' return.

The elders commissioned Pastor Jonathan Boon this past Sunday. Thank God for his time of training so that he can be equipped to teach and serve God's church here at BA. Let's keep praying for and encouraging Jon and his family in his new role.

How do wayward sheep get from Babylon to Zion?

The answer lies in the strong arm of the Lord who turns out to be an unbelievable servant who cleanses the nations, carries our sorrows, is slain for wayward sheep, and who makes us righteous.

Our saviour servant Jesus is the only way to Zion. Will you behold the servant, looking and clinging to him for dear life? May we grow in wonder and new love for this servant, Jesus!

Listen! Wake up! Depart!
It is already the eleventh hour! Israel needs to wake up or it will be too late. God calls her to listen to the voice of the servant and depart from her spiritual exile in Babylon.

Likewise, we too like Israel have a choice to make. We have not yet arrived in Zion. Will we wake up from our slumber and obey the voice of Jesus? Not just for a moment but in every moment of our lives?

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the baptisms of our 29 brothers and sisters!

Community lunch will be served after the baptism.

Christmas is less than 90 days away! This year, Bukit Arang will be having 4 gatherings across 21 December (Sat) and 22 December (Sun). Mark these dates and start thinking and praying for who you would like to invite along! More details to come.

For our BANG kids there will be a special BANG Christmas Programme on 22 December at both the 9am and 11.15am gatherings.

Kindly note that for 21 December, there will be childminding only at the 4.30pm gathering.

In darkness, do you trust in God or light your own fire?

Israel forgot, ignored and doubted God’s power to save, and judgement fell on her. But God will save Israel through the Isaiah 42 servant, who listens, obeys and relies on God completely.

Realise the futility of lighting your own fire. Our fires will fizzle out and not last. They will fail to deliver. Instead, obey the voice of the Servant Jesus, who gathers us to God, saving and sustaining us in ways we cannot.

"I wanted to give myself the chance to experience and enjoy the intentional event aimed at bringing women together and providing teaching for our journey together in faith. I have attended TWO women's conferences and am so glad to see women who were newcomers this year!

Women's conference marks my BA anniversary every year and is a testimony to new faces that are now familiar, lonely struggles that are now shared with like-minded companions, and a new church that today feels more and more like family."

God compassionately promises to send his Servant to gather his spiritually blind and deaf people back to him. But his people doubt him, claiming that he’s forgotten them!

Yet, God doesn’t rebuke his doubting people. He doubles down on his compassion. He says that his compassionate heart is greater than that of a nursing mother. His afflicted people are always on his mind. He is determined to make his barren people bountiful again.

Jesus is the concrete expression of God’s compassion to his exiled people today. Will you rejoice at God’s compassion for us? Because God has gathered us back to himself, through Jesus, he is walking with us through every pain and struggle. And when Jesus returns, every doubt about him will turn to joyful wonder!

In Isaiah 45-48, God’s people are called to turn to Him to be saved. Turn to God who is sovereign over the nations and stirs up Cyrus to save his people out of Babylon. Turn to God who tenderly carries his people from birth to old age.

In contrast, Babylon’s offers of perpetual pleasure, zero accountability and security through sorcery and enchantment are enticing but will not last. Babylon will fall in a day! So, go out from Babylon!

However, we also saw that there are limits to the salvation Cyrus achieved. God’s people may have left Babylon but Babylon has not left the people: the same fundamental problem of blind eyes and deaf ears remain. God’s people need a deeper and fuller salvation to open spiritually blind eyes and unblock deaf ears. They need the Isaiah 42 Servant!

In spite of Israel’s sin, God has not abandoned them. He alone has declared, saved and proclaimed, as He has promised. He will save them from Babylon and their sin. Israel need not fear! God beckoned them to return to Him and turn away from idols who can neither declare nor do anything!

Through the cross, our sins are blotted out and we are given new hearts to turn to God. May we turn away from our worldly, worthless idols and return to God, the one who is powerful to save and bring us home!
