Knowing that God has chosen me in Christ before the creation of the world gives me the confidence to know that I am not a fluke and that God’s salvation plan for me was not some haphazard plan pieced together after the downfall of man. God is the Alpha and Omega. He is the all-knowing God.
Furthermore, I was predestined to be adopted as a son through Jesus Christ. This speaks to me of God’s choosing and shows me just how much He loves me and values me.
I pray that you too will have that confidence in a God who is constantly pouring out His love and giving us so much more than we deserve.
Have a great week!

We have been there. There are times when it is easy to place our trust in Christ and declare that He is Lord. There are times where we struggle to know if He should still be Lord over our lives because the situation or circumstance robs us of that assurance.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV) 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Yet, when we read Proverbs 3:5-6, it is an all-in or none at all kind of emphasis. God desires our total commitment and total trust.
99% does not cut it. It's 100%. All in.
Let us all be that disciple that trusts God 100%. No ifs, no buts.

Matthew 22:37-39
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

We have seen enough in the news to know that vaccination does not guarantee non-infection of the covid virus. Yet that does not mean we should not get vaccinated.
A few governments have done a U-turn after deciding to open up their economy and relaxing the covid measures because the infections have suddenly spiked again.
It can be frustrating for all of us, not just the governments. However, on an individual level, have we sought the Lord and asked for His plans and purposes? Where have we placed our trust?
Proverbs 3:5 says to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” How many times have our understanding failed us in these pandemic times? How many times have leaders tried to find a solution only to realise it did not work? How many times have we relied on our own wisdom in these times but failed to find any solution?
Proverbs 3:6 says “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” we have to seek His will. Because He is the only one who can show us which path to take.
Let us put our faith and trust in the Lord wholeheartedly. Not 99% but 100%.
Seek His will. Not 99% but 100%.
Have a blessed week!

When Jesus was calling out to Matthew the tax collector to follow Him in Matthew 9:9-13, the Pharisees were displeased with such association between a rabbi and a tax collector as the Pharisees view them as “scums” (NLT version).
Jesus's reply in verse 13 was, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices. ’For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
It is common for the saved to forget that many others need this mercy and grace too. Yet as saved ones, we would consider some as unworthy of receiving such grace and mercy.
May we never forget that we too are sinners saved by God’s grace and mercy. May we always remember to embrace those who need God’s grace and mercy too, whoever they might be.

A contestant at this year’s America’s Got Talent is a singer by the stage name of Nightbirde who gave a beautiful rendition of a self-written song called “It’s ok” and got Simon Cowell to award the golden buzzer.
But it was not just her voice and song that captured the attention of myself and that of millions of viewers. It was her ordeal with cancer and how she was dealing with it that caught our attention.
Though she was in pain and anguish, she was full of optimism and positivity. Her words that night touched many. Faced with only a 2% chance of surviving cancer, her remark was, “But 2% is not zero percent. 2% is something, and I wish people knew how amazing that is.”
A friend forwarded a blog titled “God is on the bathroom floor” written by Nightbirde. I read the blog numerous times as it contains nuggets of wisdom that give a new perspective of what God is doing when we are suffering.
I encourage you to watch both the video and read the blog. Links are provided below.

In Matthew 8:5-14, the scene is of a centurion asking Jesus to heal his servant and the centurion was lauded for his faith.
What was it that caused Jesus to say that?
The centurion is a man of authority and understands what command and control are. Thus when the centurion tells Jesus to just say the word, he is recognising that Jesus is a man of authority, able to command and control diseases just as how he as a centurion can command and move men to do his bidding.
All Jesus has to do is to just say the word and the servant will be healed. Jesus does not even need to be in the presence of the servant for healing to take place.
Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). It is not some authority but “ALL” authority.
Like the centurion, when we understand what that authority meant, we can then understand and trust Jesus that He is in control of our situation and that He can turn our situation around.
What are you trusting Him for this season?

Matthew 8:2-3 records this encounter between a man with leprosy and Jesus.
2 And behold, a l***r came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” 3 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
The compassion and love of Jesus shine through in this instance. A short encounter, captured in just 2 verses. Jesus does not shy away from any of our ugliness, sickness, pain, or sinfulness. He wants to reach out and touch us, just as He stretched out His hands towards the l***r.
What is your situation that is needing a touch from the Lord? Would you come before him to ask of Him?
Never lose hope, never give up on God. He has not.
If you are reading this and in need of a touch, it is Him reaching out to you.

Our Father in heaven is waiting to give us good stuff and all we need to do is ask.
The good stuff he intends for us may defer from what we think of as good. So do not be surprised if it is not what you are expecting but trust that it is good for you.
Have a great week!

What keeps you awake at night? Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Learning to trust God is one of the hardest things or it can be the easiest thing. It is a choice.
In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus reminds us that being anxious is an exercise in futility. It is of course easier said than done, yet it is not impossible.
Make a choice today to not be anxious and to trust in Him and know that He knows what you need.

God has always been the one reaching out and proactively pursuing us. His desire has always been to reconcile us back to himself.
There is nothing that we can do to earn more of His love and nothing that we have done that will cause Him to love us less.
Be assured of His love.
HE LOVES YOU!

Strength and courage are needed for us to navigate and move our lives forward. Strength is not just about physical strength, there is mental and emotional strength as well.
Joshua was put in charge of the nation of Israel after Moses died, and he has big shoes to fill. On one hand, he needs to govern, on the other, he is faced with battles that need to be won. Is it any wonder why God had to remind him numerous times to be strong and courageous?
What are you facing in this season of your life that is overwhelming you?
Be strong and courageous to face the challenges that are ahead of you. Above all, trust that God will see you through just as how He has helped Joshua navigate the many challenges that were before him.
Being strong and courageous is not about having no fear, but that amidst fear, to have the strength and the courage to overcome them.
In whatever that you are facing today and in this season, be strong and very courageous, the Lord is with you.

In my years of serving and attending church, I have seen so much disunity and disagreement in the body of Christ that it is so disheartening and discouraging. I recognised that I am, and we are all sinners and thus am not looking for that perfect church or community. But I do believe that we can all learn to live and work together in unity and love.
The body is one of the best analogies that can help us understand how different people with different gifts can work together as one. If we can learn to function like how our body functions, there would be less disagreement, less disunity in the church. And the church can be a more powerful unit to do good and to accomplish the Great Commission.
What are the ways that we can work towards functioning as a body of Christ in the church?
Let it start with me. I want to embrace what is good in the other, learn to recognise the uniqueness of the individual, their gifts, and talents. Learn that a square peg needs to match a square hole. Learn my own limitations and allow others to complement my weakness which is their strength. Recognise that I need to incorporate others who can do the other things that I cannot.
Is it possible for a church to really function as the body of Christ?

Growing up as a young Christian, I always wondered if the sending of Christ was a solution that God thought of only after Adam and Eve had sinned. As I grew in the word, I was brought to this few verses found in 1 Peter 1:18-20. This clearly states that God has already chosen Jesus to be the ransom and atoning sacrifice for the sins of men before the world began.
That brought me a lot of comfort as it cements my trust and faith in God that He is all-knowing and that He has prepared everything for us. It gave me confidence that God looks at the finer details and has it all worked out.
What are the challenges that you are facing? The all-knowing God is not going to leave you in the lurch. Trust Him.
Have a blessed week.

How does having understanding help me with my anger management?
Why is being hot-tempered a sign of foolishness?
Having understanding is the ability to process and assess. It stems from considering the other’s point of view instead of just our own.
Anger is an emotion often triggered by something that irks us. A person of understanding would have considered that the other person has no idea what irks me, so by processing and assessing the situation, would probably be less triggered to anger.
So perhaps the way to manage our anger is to have a mindset of others first and looking from the other person’s perspective, to seek first to understand then be understood.
Have a great day!

If you are familiar with the story of Esther, you will know that the Jews were facing annihilation at that time and this verse contains a significant moment between Mordecai and Queen Esther that became the turning point for her and the Jews.
It is one thing to see the need and be part of the solution, and another to see the need and do nothing about it.
Mordecai was clear that if Queen Esther did not arise to be part of the solution, God is gonna raise another person but that does not mean that she will escape the responsibility of not acting on it.
Has God placed a burden on your heart to act on an issue or cause? Take courage to act on it for who knows that you are born for just such a time as this to make a difference to the sphere of influence you have been placed in. If you do not rise to it, God will raise another, but remember He first called you.
Have a blessed day and I pray that you will be a bringer of hope and light to the sphere of influence that God has placed you in.
