Dear donors

Here is a summary of our activities:
1. We arranged and delivered NTUC vouchers to Zakat eligible families, helping them through this difficult time as many have lost income sources. A total of 116 persons.

2. We delivered hampers each containing rations, treats, two jars of cookies and some NTUC vouchers for 100 kids and Zakat eligible families from Muhammadiyah Welfare Home. A special thanks to Mustafa Centre for their continuous support in facilitating.

3. The cookies were ordered from underprivileged Muslim ladies as this is their principal means of income, thus it helped generate an income for them too.

4. The transport for delivering the goods was arranged through an underprivileged family thus providing them some earning.

5. We continued our ongoing efforts for educating/mentoring children in need through private tuitions and one on one mentoring.

6. We continued Quran classes for special children who cannot attend regular classes.

These are unique times and the challenges faced by the underprivileged Muslim families due to their economic difficulties are unprecedented.

We are so inspired by your continued support and will keep up our efforts for the progress of the community.

This year due to the circuit breaker, we are unable to conduct all the usual Ramadan activities of the preceding years. However Insha'Allah we will be providing NTUC vouchers to low income families who are in dire need. These are mostly daily workers whose earnings have been impacted by the health emergency. The vouchers will help them with their groceries and daily needs.

We are all set and Super excited about our shopping day with the children and Beneficiary families today !!!!

300 jars of cookies from 3 different ladies for muhammadiyah's food hamper and food hamper for needy families.

This project not only adds a very sweet twist to the food hamper but EMPOWERS the ladies making the cookies, to get experience and exposure and earn a small income for themselves too !!!

Ramadan Reflections.

O Allah! Safeguard us for the Month of Ramadhaan (by making us see the Month of Ramadhan healthy and fit), and Safeguard the Month of Ramadhan for us (by making the conditions in it such that We can take maximum benefit from it) and Accept it from us.
O Allah! Put affection amongst our hearts, Set right our matters between ourselves, Guide us to the ways of peace, Save us from darkness towards light. Save us from all kinds of indecency : the apparent as well as the hidden. Bless our hearing, our seeing, our hearts, our spouses and our children, and turn in Mercy upon us. Indeed You are the One who greatly Accepts repentance, One who is repeatedly Merciful Aameen

Eid shopping 2017 for Darul Ehsan

Salaam All,

Alhamdulilah, Allah has been merciful and has given us his blessings.

Ramadan 2017 is approaching soon and it is a good time to think of the people who are less fortunate.

We are pleased to announce that Insha'Allah similar to previous years we will be taking the Children of Darul Ehsan and that of some needy families for Eid shopping and for dinner on Sunday the 21st of May 2017 at 2pm @ Kalang Wave Mall.

Shopping will commence at 2 pm followed by early dinner at a fast food

We are actively looking for donors to sponsor 59 kids, ( boys and girls age 8 to 23) of Darul Ehsan +

The cost to sponsor one child is SGD 75 which will include shopping for clothes, eid hamper, dinner and transportation.

We are also looking for volunteers (parents and children) to help us on the day, it is a great opportunity for the kids to provide a helping hand, and strike a friendship. Any number of volunteers is not enough so please do join.

We will be packing the eid hampers in advance for the kids which will be given to them on that day.

Empower today is a Singapore based non profit organization that aims to help and empower underprivileged Singaporeans. We provide financial, emotional and counselling support to help individuals and families become independent to be able to sustain themselves over long term.

As part of Empower Today's ongoing initiatives, the Empower Today team employed one of the beneficiaries to cook for 100 workers - a lady who cooks to support her family. She is also learning to cater on a larger scale.
She provided chicken biryani, fruits, dates and drinks which was delivered to us. The food was then distributed on Friday, 9th December to the workers at lunch time who were pleased to receive home cooked food.
This will be an ongoing project: to feed the workers once a month. This helps us achieve the goal of slowly empowering our beneficiary by providing her opportunity to get experience of cooking on a large scale as well as earning a decent income to support her household. At the same time we supported the workers by providing them free food (which is home cooked and highly valued by them) and help them save some money every month.
Staying true to its basic purpose Empower Today is adding value through this project by connecting various parties to support each other.

We are pleased to share with you that we have started Project Iftar 2016. Where we will be arranging Iftaar for 60 muslim brothers every Sunday at the local Jamiah Mosque. These are mostly migrant workers living away from home and are economically challenged.

As Empower Today aims at always helping individuals to become financially independent, the food is provided by a muslim lady who runs her cooking business from home. Hence helping her on her journey to establish her business.

The food pack contains dates, chicken biryani, a fruit and a 250 ml juice box.

With the support of each one of you we will IA run this iftar project every Sunday in Ramadan. Alhamdulillah we have accomplished the Iftaar delivery for the first Sunday.
