The long festive weekend is coming to an end and it’s time to get back into your fitness routine. And for those who have a resolution to keep, there’s no better time to start than now.
It’s tough, we know. But let us help ease you into it. Start with some light intensity exercises, then gradually move into something more intense to spice things up. Set yourself small goals - try a new exercise, try a new machine, do one more set, and feel the high from small successes.
Here are some tips to help you determine the intensity of various workouts.
Working out in the gym can be especially daunting for someone who has never step foot in one before. But having a community to workout alongside with will boost up your confidence while being comfortable in your own skin.
Before starting, here's a simple checklist to help you preparing yourself for your first gym experience.
· Pack your essentials
· Place your valuables in our lockers and take only what you need for your workout
· For some, music can help focus and keep motivation high
· Don't forget your basic gym etiquettes such as keeping and wiping down of equipment once done
· Seek help from our crew whenever you need.
What are your goals for 2024?
A quick online search can yield numerous workout options for fitness beginners. However, when faced with a paradox of choice, where does one start?
The key lies in establishing a clear goal. Whether your objective is weight loss, muscle gain, or simply increasing overall activity, defining a goal allows you to sift through the myriad options, eliminating those unrelated to your objective, and concentrating your choices on those aligned with your fitness goal.

Which team are you on?
Both long and short workouts have their own perks when it comes to helping you inch closer to your fitness goals.
It is recommended that we alternate the duration of the workout to maximise the limited hours we have in a day to exercise. Working out in some way most days is better than doing nothing towards achieving progress.
The most important thing is to find a routine that works for you and keep the grind going!
Ever wondered how timing of meals can affect your workout? Let’s breakdown and understand the difference between a fasted and non-fasted training session together and plan ahead for your session at the gym!

Did you know: Fat cells and muscle cells are different structures and are not interchangeable.
During weight loss, fatty acid is taken from fat cells to be used to produce energy for the body. Muscles, on the other hand, are made up of proteins, water and glycogen.
Hence, when trying to increase lean muscle mass and losing fats stored in the body, it is important to focus on the two components separately. With a reduction of calorie consumption, remember to also include strength training for muscle growth stimulation!
