Pastoral Message

Dear brothers and sisters-in-Christ,

Greetings to all of you. Peace be with all of you and your family.

（1）Connecting with our brothers and sisters-n-Christ

As the circuit breaker has been extended till 1 June, let us continue to keep in touch with our sisters-in-Christ via messaging apps. Some may face anxieties in terms of job insecurity, social isolation, etc. If you are aware of some who may need our assistance, please contact our pastoral team immediately.

(2) Relief assistance for those who are in needs

Though our church do not have provision of a COVID-19 Relief Fund, our respective congregations will set up some forms of relief assist those in our community or church who may need some forms of financial assistance.

(3) Concerning of Holy Communions

Our Bishop Rev Dr Chong Chin Chung has explained to all of us that as Holy Communion is a holy sacrament and is to be conducted in the context of corporate worship. Thus it is decided that the holy communions will be temporally suspended for the month of April and May. Bishop office will update us if there are any further new developments.

(4) Prayer Support

Lastly, let us continue to uphold one another by praying for our nation, our church and our families:

(a) Pray for the safety and well being of our foreign workers who are residing in the dormitories. Pray that the number of infected cases will reduce significantly.

(b) Pray that our brothers and sisters-in-Christ of our church will focus upon our Lord Jesus Christ and be still in His presence.

(c) Pray for the well being of our family members as we balance work and tending to the needs of our families.

敬爱的弟兄姐妹，

在主里向大家问安。愿主的恩惠与你和家人同在。

（一）与主内弟兄姐妹保持联系

目前政府的阻断措施已经延长至6月1日，让我们在这期间通过简讯应用程序尽力与我们的主内弟兄姐妹保持联系，互相扶持。我们当中或许有弟兄姐妹可能正面对工作不稳定，孤单焦虑处境中。若你得知有弟兄姐妹需要援助，请尽快通知我们的牧者团队。

（二）提供救济援助给有须要者

虽然教会并没有设立冠状病毒疾病援助基金，但各音崇拜将为其面对经济困难之会众或社区居民提供救济援助。

（三）有关圣餐事宜

张振忠会督经已向我们解释由于圣餐属圣礼并当于社体崇拜中进行，所以新加坡卫理公会教会将不会在四月份和五月份举行圣餐。若有新发展会督室将通知我们。

（四）同心代祷

最后，让我们同心合意为着我们的国家，教会与家庭同心代祷：

- 祈求主保守看顾住在宿舍的客工。求主也施恩，使本地确诊病例显著减少。

- 祈求我们主内弟兄姐妹能够在这疫情困境中依然仰望主耶稣，经历主的同在。

- 祈求主保守看顾我们的家人，有智慧兼顾工作与照顾家人之需要。

Congratulations to our Rev Peter Soh for being ordained as an elder during the 44th CAC Annual Conference.

“Serve & Be Served” was our theme for our HMC Staff Retreat this year! Praise God for a wonderful time of fellowship & sharing! Everyone enjoyed it very much! It was indeed a blessed and memorable one! Everyone served, and everyone was being served. God bless.
