OVERFLOWING OF BLESSINGS

CSA's Tamil community gathered together on 14 January to celebrate Pongal, a traditional Indian harvest festival and thanks giving. Traditionally, a Pongal celebration takes place over four days and is commemorated by cooking milk and rice till it boils over. When the mixture starts to froth, participants shout "pongollo pongal" as a wish for overflowing blessings. CSA's Pongal Night was a night to appreciate traditional food items, while playing games and enjoying performances by our very own church members. Joining in the Pongal celebrations were Fr Iggy, Parish Priest and Fr Benjamin, Spiritual Director ACTS who grace the event with a Eucharistic Celebration. There was also time set aside for Pongal Procession, Bible reflection and Introduction about Pongal making it truly a night of abundant blessings for those who attended.

Joy to the World, The Lord has come!
The True Joy of Christmas

Christmas is the most important festival for all Christians. Even the non-Christians enjoy the season. It is the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. His birth made a great remark in the history of the world by splitting it as BC & AD. His birth brought Hope, Love, Joy and Peace to all mankind without any discrimination. He is the Redeemer of the whole World.

The preparation of Christmas is not in buying new clothes and decorating the home with Christmas tree, Nativity Scenes and lights or exchanging gifts with the friends and relatives alone. The true Joy of Christmas, lies in sharing what we have and the hope, love, joy & peace of Christmas, that we received from our Lord with the poor and lonely.

கிறிஸ்துமஸ் என்றால் கொண்டாட்டமே, ஆடிப்பாடி மகிழும் நாட்களே
ஒன்றாக கூடியே கரங்களை தட்டியே, இயேசுவை கொண்டாடுவாங்களே
வாழ்க்கை எல்லாம் செழிப்பாகுமே, இயேசு இன்று பிறந்ததினாலே
நம் வாழ்க்கை மாறுமே, புது வழி திறக்குமே, இயேசு இங்க வந்ததினாலே

Christmas is the day of celebration and joy,
Clap your hands together and celebrate Jesus,
All life will prosper, because Jesus has born today,
Our life will change and a new way will be opened, because Jesus has come here.

As the prophet Isaiah says in 29:19, The afflicted also will increase their joy in the Lord,
And the needy of mankind will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. The true Joy of Christmas and the purpose of the birth of our Lord Jesus is fulfilled when we celebrate Christmas with the people in need.

Let the New Year 2023 be a blissful one for all the Children of God by His grace and mercy. Let us fulfil our mission by sharing the love of God to all we meet. Many may not have a Bible or know about the love of God and Jesus, His son. Let us be the Gospel, a Bible and an instrument for them to experience and taste the love of God by our words and actions. As St Paul says in 1 Cor 9:16, Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel! Let us realise that, it is the duty and necessity that is laid upon us. Let us start and continue doing our part this year with a thankful heart for another year.

May 27, 2022 - 20th Sacerdotal Anniversary of our Parish Priest, Fr Ignatius Yeo or Fr Iggy as many call him.

Fr was ordained 20 years ago in 2002. Let us pray for him as he strives to serve the Lord, our parish and the Archdiocese in his myriad of roles.

The pandemic restrictions may have dimmed our presence in the Parish the past 2 years but it certainly did not dampen our spirits!

With games, H2Hs and mini-lessons - in our very own Parish - it is indeed a blessing we get to Return Home.

Please take note of the following:

● From May 1, 2022, parishioners are free to attend any mass in church without the need to make a booking.

● There is also no need for TraceTogether except for masses that are designated as VDS masses where more than 500 attendees are expected.

● Parishioners are asked to bring their IDs for scanning to help us with pre-mass preparations.
Parking will also resume.
The carpark will be closed once it is full, and drivers must remove their vehicles immediately after mass to allow others to exit. Please follow the instructions of the Stewards/Ushers.

● Parishioners are reminded to be on time for mass. Gates will be closed just before mass starts.

A Blessed Easter to all & a Most Blessed 15th Anniversary to Fr KS Michaelraj as he celebrates his 15th sacerdotal anniversary today (16th April).

May the Lord bless Fr KS Michaelraj and fill him with the grace of the Holy Spirit that he will be fruitful in his ministry and be a blessing for the people of God.

May the Lord continue to guide him and grant him the strength to fulfill the mission entrusted to him and may he find joy in serving God’s people. Amen.
