Hello, my name is Ma Thwe Thwe Soe. I am 33 years old. I graduated from Yadanarbon University in Mandalay with a Law Major. Currently Im working in Singapore as a Professional Caregiver.

I attended a nine-month nursing course in Noble Lamp and worked in a private hospital in Myanmar for six months. I started working in Singapore as a Live in caregiver from May 2018, this is a better job opportunities and I can gain more health knowledge and experiences.

I have been able to care for patients with a variety of medical conditions. Most of them suffered from stroke, whereby I need to help them monitor vital signs for example: blood pressure / pulse rate / respiration rate as well as oxygen level; Assist with ADL (activities of daily living) like Transferring / Showering / Changing diaper / Assist with feeding and sometime need to do NGT (Nasogastric Tube Feeding) and airway suctioning if it is needed. Personal Hygiene including oral hygiene / cleaning the face / hair wash and so on. Daily physical exercise is very important for patient, I try to bring him out with wheelchair, but some patient is bedridden so can only do exercise in bed, this is very important to take special care to prevent bed sores.

I also take care patients with diabetes by monitoring their blood glucose level and for some patient need to do insulin injection, wound dressing is quite common for diabetes patients as well.

The last patient I looked after suffered from re**al cancer. I helped him with wound management / monitoring vital signs including temperature / Bed sponging / Diaper Changing / assist with feeding and medication.

Working as a Professional Caregiver gives me the opportunity to take care of all kinds of sick people, I really love this job. Sometime family members are not familiar with the medical condition of the patient and what is the best to give to patient, as a caregiver if we can give some professional advice and suggestion based on our experience and knowledge, that is the best way to build trust and we have good relationship.

ကျွန်မ ၂၀၀၆ခုနှစ်မှာ helper တစ်ယောက်အနေနဲ့စင်ကာပူမှာစတင်လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အဲ့ဒီ့တုန်းကအိမ်နဲ့ပတ်သက်တဲ့ သန့်ရှင်းရေး၊ ချက်ပြုတ်၊ လျှော်ဖွတ်၊ မီးပူတိုက်၊ ကလေးထိန်းစသဖြင့်လုပ်ပေးခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ တစ်ခါတစ်လေ ကားလည်းရေဆေးပေးခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမဲ့ဒီအလုပ်တွေကကျွန်မနဲ့ရင်းနှီးပြီးသားအလုပ်တွေဖြစ်တဲ့အတွက်ကြောင့်ကျွန်မအတွက်ထူးခြားပြီးတော့သင်ယူစရာတွေမရှိခဲ့ပါဘူး။

၂၀၀၉ ခုနှစ်မှာတော့ကျွန်မ Caregiver Certificate ကိုရယူပြီး Caregiver တစ်ယောက်အနေနဲ့စတင်လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ယနေ့အချိန်ထိလည်း Caregiver အလုပ်ကိုဆက်လက်လုပ်ကိုင်နေဆဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ရောဂါအခြေအနေအမျိုးမျိုးရှိတဲ့လူနာတွေကို ကျွန်မကြည့်ရှုစောင့်ရှောက်ခွင့်ရခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Hello, my name is Naw Hsar Paw 46 years old from Myanmar, I graduated from University of Distance Education, Yangon with Bachelor of Science. Now I’m working in Singapore as a Caregiver

I started working in Singapore since 2006 as a helper, my job was mainly doing housework: cleaning / mopping / cooking / laundry / ironing, sometime need to wash the car and take care of children, I was familiar with all the work and there is not much things to learn as a helper.

In 2009 I took my caregiver certificate and become a caregiver, I have been working as a caregiver until now.

So far I have taken care of patient with different conditions:
For Stroke patient I need to do Transferring / Showering / Changing diaper / NGT Feeding / Take care of Urinary Catheter / Airway suctioning etc

For Diabetes patient: Monitor blood glucose level / administering insulin injection / Wound dressing etc

I also have experience with Dementia patient / Patient with kidney problem who need to do kidney dialysis and now I taking care of 70 years old for head operation

I really enjoy working as a caregiver, because this is a professional job and every patient have different medical condition and we can learn a lot of things. Because of that I can take care of patient with different conditions and also for my family or friends who has people in their house with medical condition, I can give them advice how to take care and help them, 2q 1One thing very important and I’m happy with is that this job give me the opportunity to build a good relationship with employer more easily: when their love ones lying down with tube feeding or urinary catheter, family members with no medical background really need someone to help and give the confidence, this can happen only when you already have the knowledge and experience, they will talk to you and ask for your opinion, later they will trust you and respect you as a professional caregiver.
