I work remote but once a week, I choose to come in the office and that's when I run meetings, trainings and my usual CMO work of overlooking reports and cases of clients, plus coaching consultants. It was a super long day at work yesterday, I felt that there was not a minute to breathe. 😂 But nevertheless it was productive. Lucky I love my job ❤️

The staff and office is now my second home and second family, and the journey last two years has been rewarding in so many ways I didn't expect when I first joined in. 🎉 So blessed to be on this continued mission to help families find debt relief and to be part of a progressive company that is always welcoming.

It was supposed to be a side hustle that gave me side income, those were my plan when I joined EDUdebt Singapore as their freelance debt consultant in 2022. There is no basic salary but I was looking for a side income whilst having a job (running a family business)

So I thought earning a few hundred dollars 💵 would suit be just fine. But it turn out, that income at EDUdebt is what you make it to be. And my income there has considerably grew! As a freelance debt consultant, I work as and when I want to.

For these income I earn, it has supersede my main income at my main job 😂 and at EDUdebt, I usually work around 40 hours a month doing consultations! That's about it.

I totally believe in opportunities like this, where you get highly remunerated for giving value instead of giving your time.

As a debt consultant, you will be trained to give advice to clients who are in debt and help them successfully embarked onto a government scheme so they can become debt free!

Haha totally unglamorous working from home 😂 but camera is off, during consultations so that's okay. Hehe! What I love most about being a debt consultant is obviously the possibility of working remote. It does not always be from home as I travel a lot too - so I simply need a working laptop, strong WiFi, my reliable headset that's about it. No need make up, no need to dress up but still delivering professional advice to clients 😊

I used to do physical consultations at the office, when I first started as a debt consultant back in 2022. I must say it's a nice office too! But since last year, with pregnancy and birth + managing a baby, it's easier for me to jump on Zoom consultations with my clients online!

This is such a convenient way to work, because I never need to leave home. No commuting time or cost, no need to dress up or wear make up 🤣 saves a lot of time! My job is very flexible and I set up my own schedule, so it allows me to balance with everything else.

I love the office, but I love being at home too!

I travel more than half the time, but I am disciplined when it comes to work. BY AGE 40, YOU SHOULD BE SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE THIS: (I am turning 40 this year, yikes!)

1. Someone makes 10x more than you do in a 9-5 job because they have more "leverage" with their work.

2. Distraction is the greatest killer of success. It stunts and destroys your brain.

3. You shouldn't take advice from people who are not where you want to be in life.

4. No one is coming to save your problems. Your life's 100% your responsibility.

5. You don't need 100 self-help books, all you need is action and self discipline.

6. Unless you went to college to learn a specific skill (ie. doctor, engineer, lawyer), you can make more money in the next 90 days just learning sales.

7. No one cares about you. So stop being shy, go out and create your chances.

8. If you find someone smarter than you, work with them, don't compete.

9. Smoking has 0 benefit in your life. This habit will only slow your thinking and lower your focus.

10. Comfort is the worst addiction and cheap ticket to depression.

11. Don't tell people more than they need to know, respect your privacy.

12. Avoid alcohol at all cost. Nothing worse than losing your senses and acting a fool.

13. Keep your standards high and don't settle for something because it's available.

14. The family you create is more important than the family you come from.

15. Train yourself to take nothing personally to save yourself from 99.99% of mental problems.

May was awesome cos I earn $500/ hour 🎉🎊😁🎂⭐ Recapping my journey as a debt consultant with EDUdebt Singapore for last month's performance. I clocked in a total of 14 hours of work (doing consultations) spread over 8 days in May. The beauty of working with EDUdebt as their consultant, is that it's so flexible and allows me to manage motherhood and everything else!

My earning from consulting work amount to $7,000 last May, this then average to $875 per day of work or $500 per hour. Yup, just 14 hours of work 😘

In July 2022, I attended training to become a freelance debt consultant with EDUdebt Singapore for a chance earn a side income. I became a qualified consultant in August 2022 and very quickly, fell in love with the job. It brought so much purpose in my everyday, accompanied with high remuneration and positive workplace culture. I could work at my own time, flexible hours and balance out with motherhood.

Five months in, in March 2023 I was promoted to join the management board as Chief Marketing Officer. I started overseeing the marketing budget, lead the team of resources, manage external partners, control content and build brand identity ultimately to lead more enquiries and clients to the business - supporting our senior consultants.

In December 2023, I was further promoted to include additional role of Head of Recruitment & Training. Over 100 new debt consultants joined up to date, and I run the talks, did interviews, select candidates and set up a system to effectively train them monthly. EDUdebt continues to massively grow in numbers.

In April 2024, my boss promoted me to include additional role of Head of Sales that will keep me responsible for consultants to help them convert their clients. From mentoring, nurturing, guiding each one of them personally - the aim is to support to convert their enquiries to become clients.

My work terms remains as it is, giving me full control over my work calendar. I can work 100% remote, half the time being overseas - they say freelance is risky because it doesn't came with basic.

But if you love what you do, freelance pays you more than you can imagined. This is my dream career, after 22 months in this role - I am still looking forward to work everyday.
