In need of a Corporate Secretary for your Singapore Company? Meet Mr. Peter Lim.
Mr. Lim worked with the former Coopers and Lybrand (now known as Pricewaterhouse Coopers) for 7 years from 1972-1979, qualifying as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 1975. During his employment there, he was seconded to the London Head Office for 3 years. His experience included auditing various multinational listed companies and banks. He was also involved in management consultancy services.
In 1979, he joined the Straits Stream Ship LTD as an internal auditor and was trained to assess the internal control systems of the company. The following year, he joined Inchcape BHD, a British conglomerate, as an internal auditor and was promoted to finance manager in one of their subsidiary companies, Borneo Company LTD. As the finance manager, he took control of the finance and administrative departments, including treasury functions. He implemented management procedures such as cash flow projection, budget control, agency evaluation, franchising and market analysis.

Requirements:
☑️ A diploma/degree in Accountancy / Finance /ACCA or equivalent.
☑️ 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience
☑️ Proficiency in MS Office and MYOB / XERO Accounting Software
☑️ Good knowledge of Accounting Standards/Corporate Tax/Personal Income Tax
☑️ Able to work within tight timeline and multitask in a fast-paced environment
☑️ Proficiency in English language (verbal & written) preferred

Singapore Start-Up Tax Exemption (SUTE) Scheme
The tax exemption scheme for new start-up companies is established to support entrepreneurship and to grow local enterprise and start-up companies can enjoy tax reliefs available to reduce companies’ tax bills.
The tax exemptions for qualifying companies for their first 3 consecutive YAs are as follows:
◙ 75% exemption on the first $100,000 of normal chargeable income*; and
◙ A further 50% exemption on the next $100,000 of normal chargeable income*.
Which companies qualify for SUTE scheme?
The following companies are eligible for the tax exemption scheme:
1. If the new start-up company is incorporated in Singapore
2. If the new start-up company is a tax resident of Singapore for the Year of Assessment
3. If the new start-up company has shareholders that are not more than twenty (20) throughout that YA where:
a. All the shareholders are individuals; or
b. At least 1 shareholder is an individual holding at least 10% of the issued ordinary shares of the company.
Which companies unqualified for the SUIT scheme?
1. Companies whose principal activity are that of investment holding
2. Companies that undertake property development for sale, investment, or both
** This exemption scheme applies to qualifying companies only for their first 3 consecutive YAs. From the fourth YA onwards, companies can enjoy the partial tax exemption **
