In need of a Corporate Secretary for your Singapore Company? Meet Mr. Peter Lim.

Mr. Lim worked with the former Coopers and Lybrand (now known as Pricewaterhouse Coopers) for 7 years from 1972-1979, qualifying as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 1975. During his employment there, he was seconded to the London Head Office for 3 years. His experience included auditing various multinational listed companies and banks. He was also involved in management consultancy services.

In 1979, he joined the Straits Stream Ship LTD as an internal auditor and was trained to assess the internal control systems of the company. The following year, he joined Inchcape BHD, a British conglomerate, as an internal auditor and was promoted to finance manager in one of their subsidiary companies, Borneo Company LTD. As the finance manager, he took control of the finance and administrative departments, including treasury functions. He implemented management procedures such as cash flow projection, budget control, agency evaluation, franchising and market analysis.

On Friday, Singapore's 2024 Budget was released. Here are some new features from the budget to take note of:

-SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme: enhanced support for Mid-Career Singaporeans
-Corporate Income Tax Rebate: 50% rebate up to $40,000
-Enterprise Financing Scheme: enhanced support
-SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit: extended to 2025

AGMs are required to be held once per year. Corporate secretaries are required to prepare any necessary documentation for the AGM. If you are newly incorporated, you must hold your first AGM within 18 months of incorporation.

In Singapore, MOM has started requiring education verification for 𝗔𝗟𝗟 EP applicants starting from September 1st, 2023. For EP renewals, passes expiring on or after September 1st, 2024 will also be required to submit verification.
