What a privilege that Breakthrough Missions was invited to perform a few songs at the dinner event hosted by the HUG ministry on 7 Sept 2024, with the Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Chee Hong Tat as the Guest of Honour, who also belted out powerful Hokkien and Cantonese songs.

Hallelujah, as the smell of 猫山王 covers the air, more so is the aroma of JESUS CHRIST supersedes and travels into hearts of those who hear the gospel.

The foursome is at the 4-day Kuala Lumpur Isaac Conference 2024.

We are glad to have the Teen Challenge visits Breakthrough Missions. We are eager to exchange ideas and learn from one another in the Lord as our Homes progress to helping the brothers to change for the better. Amen

JOB DETAILS:

• 5-day work week

• Help clients with assessment, case management and care plans

• Offer counseling support and group work

• Reconnect clients with community services and families

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Social Work, counselling, or psychology.

• At least one to two years of related work experience.

Full-time Social Worker

Position Overview:
The Social Worker will be responsible for providing counseling and case management support for clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct assessments and develop care plans for clients.
· Manage case files and provide ongoing case management.
· Facilitate classes, group/individual counseling sessions, intake interviews at the Prison, family sessions, and community service programs.
· Collaborate with the Prison Department, residents, and families.
· Facilitate the reconnection of clients with community services and their families.
· Oversee day-to-day matters of residents.
· Provide after-care services such as job placement and arranging lodging.
· Assist with general administration duties.

Requirements:
· Degree in Social Work or Psychology.
· Minimum of 2 years experience in a related field or social service work.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a team.
· Capable of working independently and under pressure.

Core Competencies:
· Passion for working full-time in the Christian halfway house sector and instilling Christian values in clients.
· Bilingual in English and proficient in Chinese to communicate with Chinese-speaking clients.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as providing all forms of administrative support.
· Exposure to prison or rehabilitation work is advantageous.

All glory to God. Our lives were once like filthy rags, but God said, "You are the apple of my eyes"; once prison was our frequent haunt, but God gives us the identity, and restores us as respectable and important people again. Who are we that today we set foot in the Singapore Parliament House witnessing the final day of PM Lee Hsien Loong's tenure, and be in the midst of the Ministerial Statement on Singapore's National Drug Policy delivered by Minister for Home Affairs and Law Shanmugam.

So glad that yesterday, the Breakthrough Missions music team went to the Prison to celebrate an advanced Good Friday with the brothers. Many were overwhelmed and touched, as they listened to the impactful testimonies of how Jesus changed our lives from prisons to the pulpits. More blessed is God's given us beautiful wives and a ministry to serve. We were like filthy rags reduced to the shadows of death, but Jesus came into our lives and reignited the FIRE that made everything looked beautiful and purposeful again. Today we're contributing citizens in society lifting up the name of Jesus, everywhere we go we sing of His wondrous love. Therefore, let's keep our spiritual fervor as we serve. They heard 'There's hope in Jesus'. Amen!
