L' Hexagone French Club
L'Hexagone French Club L'Hexagone French Club was formed in April 1996 and officially registered on 24 May 1996.
The name L'Hexagone is derived from the hexagonal shape of France and it literally means “France”.
this annual French tradition of eating ‘galettes’ (French almond tarts) which has a figurine hidden inside. Every year after Christmas, French people eat the famous and delicious “Galette des Rois” (Twelfth Night Cake) filled with almond cream. This tradition commemorates the long trip of the three wise men from the East (The “Rois Mages”, Gaspard, Melchior and Balthazar) who came from all over the world to put the most extraordinary gifts in front of the infant Jesus’ cradle. The person who finds the figurine in his portion becomes king or queen for the day.
This one-day immersion program started in 2001. It is held twice a year.
Sometime LFS students are also visiting NYP during Open House or on one immersion day
planned for them in NYP.
15 students are selected for this program. They will attend lessons and interact with their French peers at the LFS.
The Objectives of the immersion program are:
1. To allow our students to experience the French education system and culture
2. To enable our students to practise their French language in a real French speaking environment.
3. To strengthen the relationship between NYP and LFS
4. To create rapport between our students learning French & the French students from LFS
5. To build a sense of awareness of a different culture among our students
